Rev 13:6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

Taking Rev 13:4-6 together we see that the beast as satan and the beast as the antichrist are worshipped by the people of the world. Satan gives antichrist his authority and power.

We know from the book of Daniel the antichrist goes into the temple and declares he is greater than God at some point in time.

Satan has had nothing but distain for God and Jesus since the beginning of time, and it's apparent every time he(antichrist) opens his mouth in blaspheme against God.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72197857

Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

The Power of the Beast - "He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them." Today the world is prepared for a one world governmental philosophy. That philosophy, propagated by Satan and advocated by the intellectual, godless, atheistic leaders of world governments today, is rapidly spreading across the earth.

Dan 7:23 and he (the beast) will devour the world...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72203529

Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Governments of the world will be the devil's/antichrist's governments, established during the Tribulation.

Verse 7 tells us, he will exercise power over "every tribe, people, language and nation."

It's quite evident satan's ruling today.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72220492

Rev 13:9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.

You see, this again, is a very important warning. Don't let it go in one ear and out the other; but take heed and listen to this warning. This is emphasizing a very important truth.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69459073

Rev 13:10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

This is one of the verses that may seem out of place - however, it gives us some very important information about the judgement of many in the end.

We see many people being taken captive, many slaughtered among other cruel acts of inhumanity.

What we're being told is not to think these crimes will go unpunished - but will be met with exacting justice.

10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Here in Rev 13 and Rev 14 we are talking about the great tribulation, and we see christians are still here.

Who exactly are these christians - because from Mathew 24:37-42 it's clear the rapture happens before the great trib:

38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark....

40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

The end time kingdom will have a cruel, fierce king - much like ISIS today. As a matter of fact - I think Isaiah 13 is referring to ISIS:

God tells us he will punish the world for their iniquity - using the same countries that comprised the medes of ancient times; Syria being one of them.

Isaiah 13:15 Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.

16 Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.

There are many others who are also changing their perspective on the traditional interpretation of Isaiah 13.

Why? - because there are too many discrepancies in the traditional version and it is unfolding right before our very eyes...

I would like to give others perspective on it and go over Isaiah 13:

MOUNT JULIET, TENN. (Christian Examiner) -- Days before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a controversial speech to the United States Congress warning of the danger of Iran building nuclear weapons, Bible prophecy teachers told an audience at Victory Baptist Church that current events involving Israel, ISIS, Iran, and the United States may be part of end-time events prophesied in the Bible.

"I can only say that it looks like Isaiah's prophecy about Babylon or Iraq is starting to be fulfilled," said Daymond Duck, a retired pastor and founder and president of Prophecy Plus Ministries.

Conference speakers Duck and Gary Fisher asserted Christians are living in unprecedented, perilous times. Duck and Fisher, an evangelist and founder and president of Lion of Judah Ministry, both teach from a pre-millennial, pre-tribulation perspective -- a view which holds that the events in the biblical book of Revelation are literal, future events and that Christians will be "raptured" or removed from the earth before the events of chapters 5-19 occur........

The false prophet has the same powers granted to him by satan, that the first beast has.

However, he is also given power over all the people of the earth.

Rev 13:12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

Many believe Islam will be the dominant power in end times.

There are many similarities between the end times kingdom and Islam.

One of them is you risk being killed if you don't worship Allah - the god of Islam.

Return of the medes:

See, I will stir up against them the Medes, who do not care for silver and have no delight in gold. Their bows will strike down the young men; they will have no mercy on infants nor will they look with compassion on children. Babylon, the jewel of kingdoms, the glory of the Babylonians’ pride, will be overthrown by God like Sodom and Gomorrah. She will never be inhabited or lived in through all generations; no Arab will pitch his tent there, no shepherd will rest his flocks there. (Isaiah 13:17-20)

This prophecy has never been fulfilled...

There are many reasons to believe that the Babylon spoken of in these prophecies is the End Times city in Iraq, and that it will be destroyed by the Medes, or rather their modern counterparts, ISIS. The Medes are mentioned in Isaiah 13:17 as being involved in a destruction of Babylon which has never happened in history and will result in the eternal desolation of Satan’s headquarters on Earth.

One of the reasons is Isaiah 13 tells us this will happen "In that day" commonly referred to as the Great Day of the Lord - that takes place in end times....

Isis has rampaged towards the capital: A blow by blow account of how Islamist militants outnumbered 20-to-1 by the army cut through huge swathes of Iraq.........

Iraq is the ancient biblical land of Shinar, Mesopotamia, the Chaldeans. The Tigris and the Euphrates run through it. Baghdad is the home to former Babylon (50 miles to its south). Mosul is home to the former Nineveh which is across the river banks. Nineveh was the capital of the Neo-Assyrian Empire.

The Neo-Assyrian Empire lasted from 934 BC and ended in 609 BC. During this period, Assyria assumed a position as the most powerful state on earth, successfully eclipsing Babylonia, Egypt, Urartu/Armenia and Elam (Iran) for dominance of the Near East, Asia Minor, Caucasus, North Africa and east Mediterranean, though not until the reforms of Tiglath-Pileser III in the 8th century BC did it become a vast empire. Wikipedia

In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria came and captured Ijon, Abel-beth-maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and he carried the people captive to Assyria. (2 Kings 15:29)

"At the height of its power, the Assyrian Empire stretched from Cyprus in the Mediterranean Sea to Persia (Iran), and from the Caucasus Mountains (Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan) to the Arabian Peninsula and Egypt." (Wikipedia)

Indeed, some call the bible 'a tale of two cities', Jerusalem and Babylon (Baghdad). As ISIS moves closer to Baghdad, many are on the edge of their seats wondering of the Iraqi army will melt away and hand over the city, or if they will dig in for a siege. In the Tribulation, Babylon is prophesied to be revived, (Revelation 18:10) so one wonders with raised eyebrows when heavy fighting erupts suddenly around this ancient biblical and prophetic city. Wonders and watches........

In the ancient times I mentioned above, Assyria simply was the main empire and covered most of the Middle East. Borders were not necessary- they had the whole thing.

The heart of the Assyrian Empire eerily mimics the ground the ISIS coalition has grabbed today: northern Iraq, northeast Syria and southeastern Turkey.........

There are other discrepancies that exist between the antichrist and the assyrian.

We know from Revelation that the antichrist finds his final resting place in the lake of fire - whereas the assyrian is buried in Israel.
