Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75226537 Notice here - what happens during this earthquake in Jerusalem; and the remnant(144K witnesses) were afraid: Rev 11:13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven. So why was there an earthquake at this point in time. Because the inhabitants were rejoicing over the death of God's 2 'special witnesses' and the fact that the antichrist killed them. However, 3 days after they were killed - God raised them from the dead and ascended them to heaven. However, this isn't what frightened the remnant - they'd already been to heaven. It was The power of God that shook the earth so violently - that a 10th of Jerusalem collapsed, killing 7000 men. And I'm assuming we are in for quite a few of these in the near future: Luke 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places Rev 11:14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly. 15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. ---- At this point satan is no longer the god of the world - "The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ" Here are the verses that make it a complete picture. Just pulling a verse out here and there is not enough to understand what is actually going on. I'll start with the last post first - Satan is kicked out of heaven and becomes the god of this world. Rev 12:9-12 (KJV) 9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 12...Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time. But before satan is cast out of heaven, we see God commissioning his 2 witnesses to spread the gospel. Rev 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. 4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. There are still many to be saved before it's too late |
