Just like burning those specifically listed weapons: "small shields, large shields, bows, arrows, clubs, personal weapons, and spears" as firewood, does not mean really mean they burn those as firewood, for 7 years, I suppose?

Up until lately it's literal fulfillment was not probable, but a world wide EMP war(WW3), would easily make the world revert to this level of technology.
With the current NATO/Russian warlike stance and threats anything is possible.
An EMP war would be considered survivable, rather than the Mutually Assured Destruction of a traditional nuclear war. So it is much more likely to occur.

The arabs are not anywhere near as advanced as the western world is - excluding isis at this point. For example - in some riots we watch on TV - the rioters are throwing rocks and whatever they can grab at the moment. They could potentially ride horses to navigate mountain terrain. who knows? But what I wanted to speculate on here is, and I won't go into it 'til later - that I believe gog magog war is 2 armies. The antichrist - who probably has the best technology available and the arabs who have come to take a spoil. You would get the fuel from jets, tanks etc from antichrist, while gog is using rudimentary weapons. Probably sounds unrealistic at this point. Hopefully, I get a chance to develop it as I discuss the gog magog war. I found these in my notes - from an earlier thread I posted that was removed from the database: Notice the ART thou HE - who has been prophesied would come against his people. This verse is responsible for many people claiming gog is the antichrist. But my question is - why can't there be 2 armies? Then it says, and at the same time gog will come against the land of Israel. Notice it is in the latter days (end times): Ezekiel 38:16 And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes. 17 Thus saith the Lord God; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them? 18 And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord God, that my fury shall come up in my face.
