After invading Israel a communist leader from Russia would be expected to do the same thing: "abolish the daily sacrifice" in the Catholic and Orthodox churches; and make them "desolate", devoid, of Christian religious activity. This is more evidence suggesting that the Beast/Antichrist will be from Russia. The present leader of Russia was a high level member of the communist KGB spy agency in the former communist Soviet union. Daniel 8:15-23 says that Antichrist will be a man of "fierce countenance".

In a few places in Revelation 18 says the end time civilization nicknamed Babylon (which correlates closely with America) will be destroyed by fire in a military attack by the Beast/Antichrist (Revelation 17) in "one hour". This includes merchants on ships who watch it burn, and lament that all its riches were destroyed in "one hour". Elsewhere Revelation 18 says that all of Babylon's plagues will come in "one day". Both of these correlate with a nuclear attack.

If you think about it - Daniel 7 describes the beast of Revelation i.e. leopard, lion and bear i.e. ?, UK, and Russia.
The leopard is the predominant feature in Rev 13, with the bear being the feet of the beast.
The mouth is the UK - and is the little horn in Daniel 7, or the antichrist.
The feet stomp on the entire earth, devouring it, tramping it down, breaking it in pieces.
This might mean Russia is the military Power.....
The United States was represented in Daniel 7 - but does not comprise part of the beast in Revelation 13.
Perhaps the USA is the false prophet of Revelation 13...who knows?
Time frame. One day - start of tribulation.
Nuclear exchange: One hour - God pours out all his wrath at the very end of the great trib.
Sooooooo - maybe mystery babylon is not completely destroyed all at once.
Could be a military confrontation like WW2 that lasted several years and ended with atomic bomb.
