Quote from Passage above: (He) shall destroy the mighty.

Compare James 5 to woman on beast aka mystery babylon (Rev 17 & 18). Are they one and the same, whose destruction causes a worldwide economic collapse:

Rev 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

23....for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries(cdo's, derivatives) were all nations deceived.

Rev 17:6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

The passages here can readily be applied to bankers today:

James 5 King James Version (KJV)

5 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.

2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.

3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

4 Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.

5 Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.

6 Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.

------------

James 5 is pretty much saying what Revelation does about the wob

The mighty refers great men of the earth in James 5 and Rev 18.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68184698

Notice what it says - you have heaped treasure together for the last days

Clearly, this is the end times.

It is the antichrist who destroys the woman on the beast:

in one hour destruction comes upon you - and a collapse of the entire financial system ensues:

Next verse sounds like 4th seal of Rev 6 - death and famine.

Perhaps her demise kicks of the 4th seal.

With a collapse of the entire world's economys - famine and disease and death would follow:

Rev 18:8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,

10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

Worldwide economic collapse commences:

Rev 18:11.....no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,

13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.

14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.

15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing

Daniel 9

In this chapter Daniel realizes that the 70 year prophecy of Jeremiah saying the jews will be allowed to return to Jerusalem is near if they seek out the Lord.

Daniel knows this hasn't taken place and prays to the Lord for the forgiven of the Israelis sins.

God answers his prayers with a vision - called the 70 weeks of Daniel.

This vision is one of the reasons Jesus said to the pharisees if you knew the scriptures you would know who I am.

It tells us precisely to the year Jesus was crucified - "cut off".

Hence - the time frame the messiah would appear.

Daniel once again is blessed to have a visitation by the angel Gabriel to interpret his vision.

But notice what Gabriel's first words are:

Daniel 9:3 At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.

What Gabriel is telling Daniel is God heard his prayers from the very start, and God Loves Daniel very much.

We also know God loves us, his children very much, and hears our prayers.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 44674956

Chapter 9 cont.

9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

The transgressors are the Israelis.

Wikipedia: Prophecy of the Seventy Weeks:

The vision in first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus (9:1) concerning seventy weeks, or seventy "sevens", apportioned for the history of the Israelites and of Jerusalem (9:24) This consists of a meditation on the prediction in Jeremiah that the desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years, a lengthy prayer by Daniel in which he pleads for God to restore Jerusalem and its temple, and an angelic explanation which focuses on a longer time period – "seventy sevens" – and a future restoration and destruction of city and temple by a coming ruler.

Actually the 70 weeks mean 70 years according to bible expositors.

Chuck Missler puts it this way:

"The idiom of a "week" of years was common in Israel as a "sabbath for the land," in which the land was to lie fallow every seventh year.2 It was their failure to obey these laws that led to God sending them into captivity under the Babylonians.3

Note that the focus of this passage is upon "thy people and upon thy holy city," that is, upon Israel and Jerusalem. (It is not directed to the Church.)

The scope of this prophecy includes a broad list of things which clearly have yet to be completed."

"Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people

In chapter nine Daniel had a Vision of "Seventy Weeks" that were determined on his "People" (the Jews) and the Holy City (Jerusalem) to finish "their transgressions, " and make an "end of their sins, " and bring in "everlasting righteousness."

This Vision of the "Seventy Weeks" is the most important revelation in many respects made in the Scriptures. It set the date of the First Coming of Christ, and gives the length of the reign of Antichrist. The date of the "Vision" is important. The first verse of the chapter locates it in the "First Year" of Darius the Median, or the same year as the "Fall of Babylon, " B.C. 538. Daniel had been studying the Prophecy of Jeremiah, and learned from it that the 70 years of "Captivity" of his people were drawing to a close, for the "Captivity" began in B.C. 606, and 68 years had elapsed since then. Jer. 25:11.

Many people believe the antichrist will be a muslim.

My only objection to this is:

What muslim would dare go into the temple and declare he is the supreme God of the Universe?

Here's Walid Shoebat on the subject:

Bible Prophecy and the Coming Muslim Antichrist

The Christian Bible and Christian Bible Prophecy predict that in the end times the Antichrist, a beast, an dreaded evil man, more evil than any who ever walked the earth in history, will be thrust upon the world scene, and that billions of people on planet earth will die between natural cataclysms and those killed …

I won't post the entire 70 weeks commentary - only the last portion concerning Jesus and end times:

While there was no break between the "Seven Weeks" and the "Threescore and Two Weeks, " there is a break between the "Sixty-ninth" and "Seventieth Week, " in which several things were to happen.

First we read that "Messiah Was to Be Cut Off, But Not for Himself." This refers to Christ's rejection and crucifixion. He died for others. Then we read that the people of the "Prince That Shall Come' shall destroy the City and the Sanctuary. Note that it does not say that the "Prince" will destroy the City and Sanctuary, but the People of the Prince. The people who destroyed the City of Jerusalem and the Temple in A. D. 70 were the Romans, therefore the "Prince (Antichrist) must be a Roman Citizen. This does not mean that he cannot be a Syrian Jew, for Syria will then be a part of the revived Roman Empire, and Saul of Tarsus was a Roman citizen as well as Jew.

We are then told that the desolation of the land of Palestine shall continue until the "End of the War" (probably Armageddon). As this "desolation" still continues we see that the "GAP" between the "Sixty ninth" and "Seventieth Week" takes in the whole of this PRESENT DISPENSATION.

The next verse (vs. 27) introduces the "Seventieth Week."

"And He (the "Prince"-Antichrist) shall confirm the Covenant with many for ONE WEEK (the Seventieth Week); and in the MIDST (middle) of the Week He (the Antichrist), shall cause the sacrifice and oblation to cease, " etc. For a description of the "Seventieth Week" see the chapter on 'The Tribulation.' My thinking is along your lines.

It's not a country - because it completely different than the other 3 - which are countries.

It's anybody's guess.

I was giving it some consideration to the internet.

Daniel 7 says - it devours the entire earth. that is exactly what the internet has done.

After this take over - Rev. 13 beast arises - the antichrist.

I've come to the conclusion there is more than 1 war taking place in Ezekiel 38 and 39. Possibly 2 or 3, since so many have drawn different conclusions from these 2 chapters.

America has been populated with many people from all over the world. Not so sure if it was ever desolate. But is un walled.

I am completely certain though that Israel is involved in one of these wars:

Ezekiel 38:

14 Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord God; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it?

16 And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

_______________________________________________________________________________
Along the train of thought that hydrogen nukes are the "stars"... Russia has nuclear tipped missiles that would detonate in the sky to take out the American ICBMs in flight. Perhaps this is it??
A few dozen or hundred hydrogen nukes going off in the sky could appear like mini stars?
_______________________________________________________________________________
Quoting: 1844215

They would appear like "mini stars" if they were far enough away from on observer, except they would be as bright as the sun, and therefore looking at them would burn and destroy tiny portions of the retina in the eyes. If they were very close to an observer they would be as big or much bigger than the sun, and just as bright, and would permanently blind an observer. If they were closer than 20 miles their concussion, heat, and nuclear radiation could be a mortal danger.

A hydrogen bomb nuclear explosion would not only "appear" like a mini star" - it literally IS a mini star.

As described in the original post, a hydrogen bomb explosion causes 2 hydrogen atoms to fuse together to create a helium atom. It fuses the nuclei of the 2 hydrogen atoms together, releasing enormous energy in the process - mainly in the form of light and nuclear radiation. This is EXACTLY the same nuclear fusion reaction that occurs in a star. A star is composed of hydrogen gas that is compressed at such an extremely high pressure that the nuclei of hydrogen atoms fuse to create a helium atom, releasing enormous energy causing the star to shine. A hydrogen bomb explosion is literally a star on a smaller scale. It does not just "appear" to be a star - it IS a star - EXACTLY THE SAME nuclear reaction.

When Jesus said during the end time tribulation, "stars will fall from the sky" he wasn't talking about meteors falling in the sky. Meteors aren't stars - they are rocks or very tiny stones that heat up white hot and burn as they fall through the atmosphere. If Jesus was referring to meteors, he would have perhaps said something like this: "fire and brimstone will fall from the sky" (like what destroyed on Soddom and Gomorrah). But he said, "stars will fall from the sky" - -IMPOSSIBLE -- until almost 2000 years later with the invention of bomber aircraft and missiles that can drop hydrogen bombs from the sky that can explode, creating literal stars falling from the sky.

Appears there will be a "little bit" of everything.

An asteroid, nuclear exchange, worldwide economic collapse, famine, pestilence, earthquakes. Burrrr - makes me shutter to think what this world is going to be like.

Rev 16:21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

Rev 11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

Here's one best fits asteroid:

Rev 8:7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

The spectacle that confronted Kulik as he stood on a ridge overlooking the devastated area was overwhelming. To the explorers' surprise, no crater was to be found. There was instead around ground zero a vast zone (8 kilometres [5.0 mi] across) of trees scorched and devoid of branches, but standing upright. The trees farther away had been partly scorched and knocked down in a direction away from the centre

Selected eyewitness reports
The Southern swamp—the epicentre of the Tunguska explosion—in 2008

Testimony of S. Semenov, as recorded by Leonid Kulik's expedition in 1930:[17]

At breakfast time I was sitting by the house at Vanavara Trading Post [65 kilometres/40 miles south of the explosion], facing north. [...] I suddenly saw that directly to the north, over Onkoul's Tunguska Road, the sky split in two and fire appeared high and wide over the forest [as Semenov showed, about 50 degrees up—expedition note]. The split in the sky grew larger, and the entire northern side was covered with fire. At that moment I became so hot that I couldn't bear it, as if my shirt was on fire; from the northern side, where the fire was, came strong heat. I wanted to tear off my shirt and throw it down, but then the sky shut closed, and a strong thump sounded, and I was thrown a few metres. I lost my senses for a moment, but then my wife ran out and led me to the house. After that such noise came, as if rocks were falling or cannons were firing, the earth shook, and when I was on the ground, I pressed my head down, fearing rocks would smash it. When the sky opened up, hot wind raced between the houses, like from cannons, which left traces in the ground like pathways, and it damaged some crops. Later we saw that many windows were shattered, and in the barn a part of the iron lock snapped.

Testimony of Chuchan of Shanyagir tribe, as recorded by I. M. Suslov in 1926:[18]

We had a hut by the river with my brother Chekaren. We were sleeping. Suddenly we both woke up at the same time. Somebody shoved us. We heard whistling and felt strong wind. Chekaren said, 'Can you hear all those birds flying overhead?' We were both in the hut, couldn't see what was going on outside. Suddenly, I got shoved again, this time so hard I fell into the fire. I got scared. Chekaren got scared too. We started crying out for father, mother, brother, but no one answered. There was noise beyond the hut, we could hear trees falling down. Chekaren and I got out of our sleeping bags and wanted to run out, but then the thunder struck. This was the first thunder. The Earth began to move and rock, wind hit our hut and knocked it over. My body was pushed down by sticks, but my head was in the clear. Then I saw a wonder: trees were falling, the branches were on fire, it became mighty bright, how can I say this, as if there was a second sun, my eyes were hurting, I even closed them. It was like what the Russians call lightning. And immediately there was a loud thunderclap. This was the second thunder. The morning was sunny, there were no clouds, our Sun was shining brightly as usual, and suddenly there came a second one!

Chekaren and I had some difficulty getting out from under the remains of our hut. Then we saw that above, but in a different place, there was another flash, and loud thunder came. This was the third thunder strike. Wind came again, knocked us off our feet, struck against the fallen trees.

We looked at the fallen trees, watched the tree tops get snapped off, watched the fires. Suddenly Chekaren yelled "Look up" and pointed with his hand. I looked there and saw another flash, and it made another thunder. But the noise was less than before. This was the fourth strike, like normal thunder.

Now I remember well there was also one more thunder strike, but it was small, and somewhere far away, where the Sun goes to sleep.

Krasnoyaretz newspaper, July 13, 1908:[21]

Kezhemskoe village. On the 17th an unusual atmospheric event was observed. At 7:43 the noise akin to a strong wind was heard. Immediately afterwards a horrific thump sounded, followed by an earthquake that literally shook the buildings, as if they were hit by a large log or a heavy rock. The first thump was followed by a second, and then a third. Then the interval between the first and the third thumps were accompanied by an unusual underground rattle, similar to a railway upon which dozens of trains are travelling at the same time. Afterwards for 5 to 6 minutes an exact likeness of artillery fire was heard: 50 to 60 salvoes in short, equal intervals, which got progressively weaker. After 1.5–2 minutes after one of the "barrages" six more thumps were heard, like cannon firing, but individual, loud and accompanied by tremors.

Your forgot the best one!

Sibir newspaper, July 2, 1908

On the 17th of June, around 9 a.m. in the morning, we observed an unusual natural occurrence. In the north Karelinski village [200 verst north of Kirensk] the peasants saw to the north west, rather high above the horizon, some strangely bright (impossible to look at) bluish-white heavenly body, which for 10 minutes moved downwards. The body appeared as a "pipe", i.e., a cylinder. The sky was cloudless, only a small dark cloud was observed in the general direction of the bright body. It was hot and dry. As the body neared the ground (forest), the bright body seemed to smudge, and then turned into a giant billow of black smoke, and a loud knocking (not thunder) was heard, as if large stones were falling, or artillery was fired. All buildings shook. At the same time the cloud began emitting flames of uncertain shapes. All villagers were stricken with panic and took to the streets, women cried, thinking it was the end of the world.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68321662

Jer. 25:11.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68382842

For a description of the "Seventieth Week" see the chapter on 'The Tribulation.' This is the the introduction of the 7 year covenant with the antichrist and the breaking of it 3 1/2 years later as stated above:

Daniel 9

26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Which one of you said, it had already happen is right about Jerusalem, it did happen, it was not war, it was a massacre.
First the earthquake, it went dark the day Jesus was crucified. When Jesus died on that cross, God left, he must have had a feel of all those sin of man, he darken the sky at that time of day, he rent the temple, the covering,(no long a divide between The Lord and man) the in that generation Jesus arose from the grave and many more came with him, they walk and talk an ate, that was the ones who had died, came back from the place of the dead, he stayed with the apostles 40 days teaching, then as he was leaving the Holy Ghost fell on the people and the spoken in languages, everyone heard and knew, They heard it in their language. 70 years and the Jerusalem fell, the were massacred, no war to it at that time, except a small group following a man that got them killed. They killed men women and children, blood up to the horse bridle, the whole of Jerusalem fall. This was only for the people of that time, Not all Jews, the believes left. This was their punishment, delivered by The Lord as he promised them he would do this to them.

That was their time, then it became the time of the Gentiles, this is that time, when he comes back again, the Jews that are hear will believe, The war against the will happen, Jerusalem will be destroyed not by man but by The Lord himself, so that is way you don't come against Jerusalem, the Holy Mountain has be defiled, we are to pray for Jerusalem, and not to think we are better than the Jews, he close their eyes, so they could not see, they are come wide eyed now, some are.
When all the Gentiles have been told of Jesus Christ and The Lord. The time of the Gentiles are over, then It is Jews.
Then the man of sin, the one who will say he is God, False Prophet who will make an image that talks. when he is done the the King will return and all the angels and army of God, and The get the One who is the Man of sin, they lock the Devil up for a thousand years. Then he is let loose for a short season, as he gathers an army to him, that will be short lived, then he will be no more.

Old things will pass away and The Lord Gods love will never pass away.

Summing up who antichrist is we have:

This "person" controls the entire earth!!
who has done this in the past? No one has ever controlled the entire earth.

This person is to be worshiped world wide by Everyone or be killed.

This person doesn't set up an idol (paul knows what an idol is and says "man" not idol)

He sets himself up to be supreme God.

He is cruel, fierce and knows not the god's of his fathers
nor have the desire of woman.

No one can make war with him - he's too powerful.

He comes up as the eleventh horn - after the 10 horns(kings) in some kingdom, and subdues 3 of them.

He has the 10 kings take out the woman on the beast (mystery babylon) Rev. 17:16-18

His origins are of the revived roman empire of end times.

Jesus takes him out at armageddon.

The antichrists kingdom is the last earthly kingdom before Jesus returns.

According to Mathew 24, Daniel and Revelation he rules during the great tribulation.

After "he" stands in the temple he sends an army after the fleeing Jews who are protected by God for 3 1/2 years in the mountains. Failing that, he goes after christians (5th seal Revelation).

Jesus says let no man deceive you in Mathew 24 and Revelation 6.
Paul starts out talking about this "man" saying let no man deceive you.
Paul says he will sit in the temple showing himself to be God.
Paul is an x-pharisee - he most certainly knows what a temple is.
Daniel tells us this person will obtain power by flattery and deceit.
So Jesus, Daniel, Paul agree it is a person who uses deception to gain power.
Daniel and Jesus both tell us it is an abomination of desolation, then Daniel spends some time filling in the description of this abomination and one can only conclude he's not on the scene yet..

"The chip is about 12mm in size and put in with a syringe," he said.

So you can open doors using your chip, you can do secure printing from our printers with the chip but you can also communicate with your mobile phone, by sending your business card to individuals that you meet."

In future, as the applications that can be used with the chip are developed, the hope is that workers in the building will be able to purchase food in the canteen and even check their health.

In Mathew 24 one of the first things Jesus tells us is not to let anyone deceive us.

He says this before he gives any end times prophecies.

So what would be the purpose of saying this so early in the discourse?

Mathew 24:1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 or many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

There have been deceptive people since the beginning of time.

But there will be the biggest deceiver of all - the antichrist, performing miracles and wonders - so awesome he fools even God's people.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 67772525

Every time I think of a deception so vast that even the elect can be deceived I think of our medical industry - they certainly promote their miracles and wonders.

Yep - they have created an industry of "illness". Completely wicked.

The antichrist will probably be even more wicked - if one can imagine anything more evil.

Funny I was thinking about what will the next industry of our age be known for?

We had the agricultural, industrial, technological, service and now it will be the sickness era.

We are all being poisoned just enough not to kill us, but to make big pharma and elites happy.

Lot's of money to be made by keeping us sick.

So the next era is the sick (in more than one way) era.

For a description of the "Seventieth Week" see the chapter on 'The Tribulation.' 70th week continues until the end of time - the part that has yet to be fulfilled.

This is the the introduction of the 7 year covenant with the antichrist and the breaking of it 3 1/2 years later as stated above:

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68420863

Paul say tells us - he will not come until there is a great apostasy(falling away) of the church, and we will recognize who he is when he defiles the temple and declares he is God.

2 Thessalonians 2 (KJV)

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 40061047

Paul continues - note at the end - God sends them a delusion to believe a lie:

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie

The chief work of satan is to blind the minds of men
So they do not receive the love of the truth
Do not receive the gospel

Re: Prophecies Jesus gave in Mathew 24 and Revevelation require internet and smartphone
The man of sin is the Culmination or fulfilment of man without God
He is the inevitable outcome of the rebellion against the gospel of christ
The refusal of man to receive the truth of the gospel
This un regenerated man will be used by satan
To deceive the elect
He will set up a church that teaches a counterfeit God
A counterfeit christ
And his power of his fake kingdom will come from the roman empire
The papacy is the fulfilment of the refusal of men to accept the gospel of christ, so the man of of sin , which in itself speaks of man in sin, will produce this prime example of man in sin
The man of sin. Will be a pope thefore.

Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don't understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

I do not think people understand the gravity of the blasphemy that occurred
When they rebellion happened and a man declared himself HEAD OF THE BODY OF CHRIST JESUS.
