Re: Prophecies Jesus gave in Mathew 24 and Revevelation require internet and smartphone
I do not think people understand the gravity of the blasphemy that occurred
When they rebellion happened and a man declared himself HEAD OF THE BODY OF CHRIST JESUS.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58608692

In one of the greatest and PLAINEST of the great prophecies of the Bible, St. Paul predicted that 2 things must happen FIRST before the 2nd Coming of Christ and the end of the world:

1.
A falling away or apostasy from Apostolic Christianity.
2.
The Antichrist or Man of Sin to be revealed.
Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of Joshua the Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what withholdeth (restrains) that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let (restrain), until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming. (II Thessalonians 2:1-12).

One of the main characteristics of this falling away or apostasy was the prohibition of marriage:

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. (I Timothy 4:1-3).
Up to Vatican Council II in 1962, meat was forbidden on Fridays.

The Emperors at Rome were hindering the coming of Antichrist!!

Saint Paul referred obscurely to something mysterious that was hindering or restraining evil and holding back the revelation of the Man of Sin.

The removal of the capital of the Roman Empire by Constantine in 330 A.D., greatly facilitated the coming of Antichrist. That "Eternal Rome" would allow a rival capital city to exist is truly remarkable.

The Emperors were persecuting Christians, but their presence in Rome hindered the rise of the Papacy. Christians prayed for the Emperors, and the stability of the Empire, but they never dreamed of creating another rival capital.

Beginning from his home in Britannia, Constantine conquered Gaul and northern Italy; then he laid siege to Rome. Emperor Maxentius was drowned in the Tiber and Constantine entered Rome on October 29, 312.

The Battle of Milvian Bridge
The Battle of Milvian Bridge
outside Rome in 312 AD.

Roman Emperor Maxentius was drowned during the Battle of Milvian Bridge on October 28, 212.

Constantine then built a new capital at Constantiniple and the bishop of Rome assumed the purple and the title: ponifex maximus.

This was the removal of the let or hindrance to the coming of Antichrist.

Emperor Maxentius
Emperor Maxentius
(278–312).
The Papal Roman Empire was born in January 313, when the Roman Senate recognized the roughneck Roman soldier Constantine as the first "Christian" Emperor. Constantine melted down all the gold from the pagan temples, and he used that money to bribe the Roman Senate into moving to his new capital of Constantinople.

Emperor Constantine.
Emperor Constantine.
Emperor from 306–337.

Emperor Constantine's removal of the capital from the imperial city left the bishop of Rome free to vault into the seat of the Caesars.

Constantinople became the new capital of the Roman Empire.
Constantinople became the new capital
of the Roman Empire.
After the removal of the capital, the Greeks continued to call themselves ROMANS (Gk. Romaioi), while the people in the western part of the Empire became known as LATINS.

When the bishop of Rome assumed the purple, he also assumed the title PONTIFEX MAXIMUS, which was the official title of the Caesars as head of the pagan Roman religion.

Pagan Rome persecuting the saints was no mystery to Saint John, but here a professing "Christian" bishop, as head of the pagan Roman religion, was a MYSTERY and a WONDER indeed:

And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns (Revelation 17: 6-7).
This great prophecy . . . and its fulfillment . . . is so CLEAR that even a BLIND man could see it!

An edict of Roman Emperor Theodosius linked Saint Peter with Rome!!

Emperor Theodosius, with the help of bishop Ambrose of Milan, laid the groundwork for the 2 main Latin Church heresies:

1. The Primacy of St. Peter.
2. The civil power or government is subservient to the Latin Popes and their clergy.
St. Paul mentioned that the Mystery of Iniquity linking St. Peter with Rome was working even during his lifetime....However, this heresy was sub rosa or covert and did not manifest until the predicted time—after the removal of the capital to Constantinople.

Emperor Theodosius I (347-395).
Emperor Theodosius I (347–395).
Emperor from 378 to 392.

Emperor Theodosius I was a roughneck Roman soldier from Spain.

Pope Damasus I (the first Pope to be called Pontifex Maximus) was also from Spain.

Pope Damasus I (305-384).
Pope Damasus I (305–384).
Pope from 366 to 384.
In 380, Theodosius issued an edict that everybody in the Empire MUST believe that Pope Damasus was the successor of St. Peter.

Very soon after becoming Emperor, Theodosius issued a decree that everybody in the Empire MUST believe that Pope Damasus was the successor of St. Peter:

On January 19, 379, the emperor Gratian raised Theodosius to the rank of emperor and gave him charge of the eastern half of the empire. Theodosius was a general from Spain and a convinced partisan of Nicene orthodoxy. He did not wait long to show his colors. On February 28, 380, Theodosius issued an edict saying that anyone who did not follow the faith of Pope Damasus of Rome and Peter of Alexandria was a heretic. (The Church of the Ancient Councils, p. 104).
Here is a copy of that edict :

It is our desire that all the various nations which are subject to our Clemency and Moderation, should continue in the profession of that religion which was delivered to the Romans by the divine Apostle Peter, as it hath been preserved by faithful tradition; and which is now professed by the Pontiff Damasus and by Peter, Bishop of Alexandria, a man of apostolic holiness. According to the apostolic teaching and the doctrine of the Gospel, let us believe the one deity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, in equal majesty and in a holy Trinity. We authorize the followers of this law to assume the title of Catholic Christians; but as for the others, since, in our judgement, they are foolish madmen, we decree that they shall be branded with the ignominious name of heretics, and shall not presume to give to their conventicles the name of churches. They will suffer in the first place the chastisement of the divine condemnation, and in the second the punishment which our authority, in accordance with the will of Heaven, shall decide to inflict. (Theodosian Code, Book XVI, The Catholic Faith).

Many times in the history of the Papacy there have been ANTIPOPES....These ANTIPOPES were not atheists who sought to abolish the Papacy, but men who were rivals of the then reigning Popes, and claimed that they were the legitimate Pontiffs.

ALL the Popes claim to be God Almighty on earth!!

In the Roman Canon Law, ALL of the Popes are DOGMATICALLY DECLARED to be God Almighty upon the earth....Obviously, when you are God Almighty, your word is LAW, and you are the final judge in all matter spiritual and temporal.

Pope Leo XIII (1810 -1903).
Pope Leo XIII (1810–1903).
Pope from 1878 to 1903.

Pope Leo XIII was an expert in Latin Canon Law.

He was Pope #102 in Malachy's List of 112 Popes.

His coat of arms contained a comet.

In Malachy's Prophecies, Leo XIII was called Lumen in Coelo—A Light in the Heavens!!
In Malachy's Prophecies, Leo XIII was called Lumen in Coelo–A Light in the Heavens!!
Pope Leo XIII actually claimed to be God Almighty upon the earth.

But since We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty, who will have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth, and now that Our advanced age and the bitterness of anxious cares urge Us on towards the end common to every mortal, We feel drawn to follow the example of Our Redeemer and Master, Jesus Christ, who, when about to return to heaven, implored of God, His Father, in earnest prayer, that His disciples and followers should be of one mind and of one heart. (The Great Encyclical Letters of Pope Leo XIII, p. 304).
In actuality, all the Popes have claimed to be Almighty God upon the earth.

"God Almighty" carried in a sedan chair from the Sistine Chapel.
"God Almighty" carried in a sedan chair from the Sistine Chapel.

All the Popes claim to be God Almighty upon the earth!!

Pope Leo XIII said:

"But since We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty."

Antichrist carried in a procession.
Antichrist carried in a procession.
All the Caesars from the time of Emperor Caligula claimed to be divine or gods on earth.

The Pope's Law is called Codex Juris Canonici

Obviously when you are God Almighty upon the earth, you can lay down the LAW to mere earthlings or humans....You can even make SLAVES of them if you are a malevolent DEITY.

The Popes try to rule their earthly kingdom through their legal system known as the Code of Canon Law or in Latin: Codex Juris Canonici. Most of it is still locked up in medieval Latin, and for the eyes of the hierarchy only.

Every facet of human life . . . from the cradle to the grave . . . is covered in their Code, and it is a separate legal system to the legal systems of most countries of the world.

In every country in the world where the Latin hierarchy is established, there are 2 legal systems, one claiming superiority and jurisdiction over the other. According to the authoritative Elements of Ecclesiastical Law, written by a Latin canonist, with an Imprimatur from the Latin bishop of Newark, the Pope alone is the source of all of this Canon Law.

70th week continues until the end of time - the part that has yet to be fulfilled.

This is the the introduction of the 7 year covenant with the antichrist and the breaking of it 3 1/2 years later as stated above:

Daniel 9

26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Summing up who antichrist is we have:

This "person" controls the entire earth!!
who has done this in the past? No one has ever controlled the entire earth.

This person is to be worshiped world wide by Everyone or be killed.

This person doesn't set up an idol (paul knows what an idol is and says "man" not idol)

He sets himself up to be supreme God.

He is cruel, fierce and knows not the god's of his fathers
nor have the desire of woman.

No one can make war with him - he's too powerful.

He comes up as the eleventh horn - after the 10 horns(kings) in some kingdom, and subdues 3 of them.

He has the 10 kings take out the woman on the beast (mystery babylon) Rev. 17:16-18

His origins are of the revived roman empire of end times.

Jesus takes him out at armageddon.

The antichrists kingdom is the last earthly kingdom before Jesus returns.

According to Mathew 24, Daniel and Revelation he rules during the great tribulation.

After "he" stands in the temple he sends an army after the fleeing Jews who are protected by God for 3 1/2 years in the mountains. Failing that, he goes after christians (5th seal Revelation).

Jesus says let no man deceive you in Mathew 24 and Revelation 6.
Paul starts out talking about this "man" saying let no man deceive you.
Paul says he will sit in the temple showing himself to be God.
Paul is an x-pharisee - he most certainly knows what a temple is.
Daniel tells us this person will obtain power by flattery and deceit.
So Jesus, Daniel, Paul agree it is a person who uses deception to gain power.
Daniel and Jesus both tell us it is an abomination of desolation, then Daniel spends some time filling in the description of this abomination and one can only conclude he's not on the scene yet..
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68420863

Paul say tells us - he will not come until there is a great apostasy(falling away) of the church, and we will recognize who he is when he defiles the temple and declares he is God.

2 Thessalonians 2 (KJV)

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 40061047

Paul continues - note at the end - God sends them a delusion to believe a lie:

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68461351

Before I continue I wanted to note that Daniel 10, 11, 12 are all one vision and only applies to the Jewish people.

Of course the latter days (end times) will affect us all.

Daniel 10:14 Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.

10:1-12 It has been 70 years since Daniel was taken captive. He is now 87 years old.

This is Daniel’s last vision. It is recorded in chapters 10-12. Chapter 10 is the introduction; it offers a fascinating look at the supernatural intervention that takes place behind the scenes of history.

Daniel tells the dream will come true, but not for a very long time.

Daniel 10

1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.

2 In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.

3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.

The man of sin is the Culmination or fulfilment of man without God
He is the inevitable outcome of the rebellion against the gospel of christ
The refusal of man to receive the truth of the gospel
This un regenerated man will be used by satan
To deceive the elect
He will set up a church that teaches a counterfeit God
A counterfeit christ
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58608692

You don't suppose this counterfeit church has already been thriving in plain sight for some time now, right under our noses?

Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don't understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58608692

How can they be expected to understand if they're blinded?! They need God's own intervention, and unfortunately, we christers are largely *not* helping matters.

Daniel describes his vision (many believe Jesus is the person who is talking):

5 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:

6 His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.

7 And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.

8 Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.

9 Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.

10 And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.

1 1And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.

12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

14 Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.

15 And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb.

16 And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.

17 For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.

Here is a pretty good commentary explaining the verses above:

– In his advanced years, Daniel was still in the company of other men. They were not allowed to see the vision, but the thing they did experience was scary enough. They quickly exited the scene and left Daniel alone.

– Daniel lost any vitality that he had. The Message reads: "I went weak in the knees, the blood drained from my face." - At this point in the story, there is little by way of encouragement to offer his Jewish brethren, some of whom had already returned to Jerusalem. Others would be following.

– Getting a message from a heavenly being was not trivial. Some people today report messages from the Lord that arrive with less fanfare than the TV news. Those proported messages are not like this model.

Iran Renews Vow to ‘Annihilate’ Israel

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Javad Zarif, sat down with NBC News this week for an exclusive interview. NBC’s headline and story are: “Iran Foreign Minister: We Believe We Are ‘Very Close’ to Nuke Deal.” But the Times of Israel noted a buried lede–“Zarif: The Netanyahu regime ‘should be annihilated’.”

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68461351

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 57548316

18 Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,

Daniel 10
I'm skipping through most of this because we are dealing with the antichrist.

Since Daniel 10 sets the entire vision I'll post a few verses - notice once again it is for the latter days (end times):

12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

---------------------

– Daniel DID understand why the messenger came.
- This angel, whom we take to be Gabriel, had to go fight with the wicked angel-prince of Persia and as soon as that struggle was won, another wicked angel-prince would appear on behalf of Greece.
21) But I will tell thee that which is inscribed in the writing of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me against these, but Michael your prince. – The Book of the Future was about to be opened and the future angelic wars revealed.
- Gabriel had only one ally and that was Michael, the godly angel-prince of Israel.

Re: Prophecies Jesus gave in Mathew 24 and Revevelation require internet and smartphone
To the OP of this thread and anyone else who has been misled by false teachers concerning Matt 24 and what Jesus said.

First of all, they WERE prophecies. Secondly, Jesus said that THIS (meaning the people he was speaking to) generation will SEE these things. Thirdly, those "things" happened about 40 years after Jesus said them.

They are NOT about modern day times. NOT NOT NOT

Anyone who READS the account can figure this out.

Three questions were asked of Jesus at the beginning. He answered their first two, and the answer was ALL ABOUT what was to come in 70AD.....the destruction of Jerusalem by the abomination of desolation standing in the Holy Place. (that being the Roman Army destroying the temple, and how to escape that judgement)

The third question was about His return. And He said there would be NO signs. NO warnings. So if you are looking for earthquakes, wars, rumors of wars, etc to WARN you of Christ's coming......you have been FOOLED AGAIN.

It is VERY simple folks. Prophecy has been FULFILLED IN CHRIST. There is ONLY ONE THING LEFT.

Christ's return/our judgement. And again, if you think there is a SIGN to look for, you are sadly mistaken.

The Word tells us that ONLY the Father knows that day.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 60773203

You are a liar, sent from the pit of hell.

The prophecy concerning the destruction of the temple in Matthew 24 is a PARALLEL prophecy which ALSO refers to the end of the age, and last day events.

We also still have yet to be placed under the Mark of the Beast monetary system, though all the groundwork has been laid for that to come to fruition.

There are still many events that need to be fulfilled, including the seven last plagues upon those who take the Mark, while those who do NOT take the Mark, will be protected from the plagues by God.

You are one of these liars sent by the devil to deceive people, exactly as scripture warns of.

Thank you hf

I never thought about it either - until the technology existed that enabled these prophecies to be fulfilled.

I think that's what Jesus meant when he told Daniel in Daniel 12 - knowledge would increase.

Once the ability(knowledge) was there - the prophecy could be made known :)

If you want to read a traditional view Daniel chapter 11 you can find one here:

However, I am going to focus on an alternative view that the antichist in chapter 11 is not antiochus epiphanes.

To do that I will skip chapter 11 for the time being and concentrate on chapter 12.

I'll start with the premise this is taking place in end times or "our time".

Here is a parable Jesus gives us that's a clear signal end times has started, and commentary:

32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

----------

The fig tree is Israel -

When Israel is a new nation - know what season it is (it is a sign of the time).

When you SEE ALL the things listed above - know the end of the world is close.

This generation that SEE's Israel reborn, and all things listed is the generation that will see all prophecies fulfilled.

There are many who dispute Israel is the nation of end times.

I've already given examples from Mathew 24 saying Israel exists before the great tribulation. Here's another:

Ezekiel 38 makes it abundantly clear Israel will be around before the millenial reign - because there will be no more wars once the millenial reign starts.

Eze 38:8 .....in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations (nations - not nation)..

Eze 38:4......and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, ......

5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:

6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.

and bring them all against the mountains of Israel - and God will supernaturally destroy this army.

In some respects you are quite right.

In Mathew 21 Jesus is cursing the fig tree for not bearing fruit.

In Mathew 24 Jesus is giving us information about end times and what to expect for Israel and the Jewish people, using the fig tree to represent Israel.

Great Article here on Daniel 12. Not sure if we agree on Chapter 11, but I'm posting this because it is my thoughts exactly. After all, why reinvent the wheel, when it's already been done :)

bible-truth.org/Daniel12.html

excerpt:

Daniel 12:1-13

God has definite future plans for the nation of Israel and the chastening that they will endure is to "try them, purge them and make them white" meaning pure. (Daniel 11:35) This last chapter of the Book of Daniel addresses Israel during the period of testing and purifying in the seven years before the coming of the Messiah. God is giving Israel the sure hope that in the end they would be saved and God's promises to them fulfilled. As Chapter 11 explains for a period their future would be dark because they refused to obey and put their trust in the Lord and accept the Messiah. Satan's counterfeit, the Antichrist, will deceive them and thus bring on them a terrible time of unprecedented persecution. God, however assures Daniel that in the end they would be restored and have peace in the kingdom set up by the Messiah.

The Lord explains to Daniel that "at that time," clearly meaning the events of Daniel 11:35-45, Israel's protector angel Michael, shall "stand up." This is God's appointed time to allow Michael, "the great prince which standeth for thy people, to begin to aggressively protect and defend Israel against the Devil. During the events of the preceding verses, the Antichrist will cause the greatest persecution that Israel has ever endured which includes 2000 years of oppression and the Holocaust of WWII under the Nazis. Jeremiah 30:7 refers to this terrible times as "Jacob's trouble." "Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it" ( Jer. 30:7). The events recorded in Chapter 12 begin after the Antichrist desecrates the Temple and seeks destroy Israel and wipe them from the face of the earth.

Jesus spoke of this period in Matthew 24:21-22 saying "For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." This parallels the statement of Daniel 12:1, "there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation." Zechariah foretold this time warning that two thirds of the Jews would be killed, "And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God" (Zechariah 13:8-9 ).

God will not allow His chosen people to be destroyed and He will keep His promises to them. Therefore, God sends Michael to protect Israel during this time when they are threaten with annihilation to preserve them. Michael preserves one third of the ruminant of the Jews, who will survive the Great Tribulation and go into the Millennium kingdom and repopulate the earth. Daniel 12:1 explains, "and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book." Revelation 12:6 also explains that Israel would be protected for 1260 days. (Also see Rev. 12:14, 13:5f) Note that this passage clearly teaches that only those who names are found written in the book are saved. The Jews are not assured of salvation based solely on their nationality, but like all men, their salvation is dependent on their belief and receiving Jesus as the Savior and Christ. It seems tragic that only one third of Israel is saved, but that means that for the first time in history millions of Jews will accept that Jesus is the Messiah and will in repentance turn to Him for their salvation. The Jewish Virtual Library estimates the world population to be 14,596,000 Jews. If the population remains the same when the Tribulation begins, that means an estimated five millions Jews would be saved. 1 These Jews living in the seven year Tribulation, along with probably millions of Gentiles, will understand the prophecies about the end time and will reject the Antichrist and refuse the "mark of the Beast." (See Rev. 13:17, 14:11, 16:2, 19:20, 20:4) Most of the world, however, will be deceived and under pressure receive the mark and worship the Antichrist and thus be condemned for all eternity.

Hows about Jesus is God - so he did all this stuff, and in one generation to boot.

Well, actually he coulda done it instantaneously, but had to use people-and we know how we are!!

Afterall, it took us 6000 years to get to first computer. Then 100 years to run first program in memory.

So we aren't speedy gonzales in innovation.

Iran general and 10,000 troops, within six miles of Israel

Last week we reported a potential Iranian armored blitzkrieg through Syria to the Golan Heights, on the northern border of Israel. Today’s news may confirm that report.

Israeli General Israel Ziv (res.) reported in Jerusalem that Iranian general officers have taken command of the Syrian front within six miles of the north-east border of Israel, along with 10,000 “volunteers” from Iran, Iraq and Afganistan.

“Iran is taking over the reins in Syria,” said Ziv … “In fact, no military decision [in Syria] is made without [the Iranianian Revolutionary Guard].” He described (Syrian President) Assad as “a puppet looking out at his lost land.”

This dangerous development may lead to a fast-spreading regional war in the Middle East. An Iranian blitzkrieg against the Golan Heights would trigger Israeli defenses in depth in Syria. Iran could potentially bring more than 100,000 Basiji into the battle, as well as IRGC troops. If Israel is directly threatened, it may well resort to unconventional weapons, and even launch a counter-attack against Iran itself. In previous wars Israel has counter-attacked into Syria and Egypt.

However, I am going to focus on an alternative view that the antichist in chapter 11 is not antiochus epiphanes.

To do that I will skip chapter 11 for the time being and concentrate on chapter 12.

I'll start with the premise this is taking place in end times or "our time".

Great Article here on Daniel 12. Not sure if we agree on Chapter 11, but I'm posting this because it is my thoughts exactly. After all, why reinvent the wheel, when it's already been done :)

So what we have in Daniel 12 is a series of conversations between the angels and Jesus and Daniel and Jesus.

I mentioned I wanted to start at the end and work forward.

The reason being is, first the angel tells Daniel what is to happen and as history unfolded and the prophesies proved to be accurate, interpreted them.

Here's what the angel tells Daniel will happen in the last 3 1/2 years:

Daniel 12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

13 But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

Here we see Daniel will rest until he is resurrected in some form at the very end of time.

Another reason I started from the end instead of the beginning is the timeline that is given to Daniel until the end of time.

This is important because he starts from the time the holy sanctuary is defiled. Most expositors don't include this in the end time scenario. But since God does through his interpreter the angel, so am I. Most say Antiochus did this, but I'm sticking with what God says in this particular instance. I know that Antiochus did defile the holy sanctuary, but not at the end of time - which is where I believe we are today.

Chapter 12 of Daniel tells us that the holy people have their own guardian angel watching over them. Many jews are taught they are all going to heaven, however, Chapter 12 seems to contradict this.

12 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

This is pretty repetitious of the commentary I posted - but wanted to include the verses.

Correct.

I never said 10 nations.

However - I did say at one time it might be the central bankers who are at the helm in "destroying our economies", but even that was of course pure speculation.

I'm even giving consideration to - the 4th kingdom of Daniel 7, that is diverse from ALL kingdoms having 10 horns with no crowns being the internet, and antichrist uses that to control his kingdom (new world order).

I did post it on the last page here:

Thread: All prophecies the bible says will happen in End Times are happening or almost completed at present (Page 28)

almost at end of page.

Two very important points to understand in Daniel 12 is, from the time the antichrist takes away the daily sacrifice - there will only be 3 1/2 years left until the end of the world as we know it.

The other is - after the antichrist does this the great tribulation begins - Mathew 24.

Where do we learn about this daily sacrifice being taken away?

Chapter 11.

Chapter 11.

Here is the verse in daniel 11 Jesus is referring to:

Daniel 11:31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

---------------------

He'll win support of the people using flattery - but there will be those who resist and will die for their resistance.

32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

33 And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.

34 Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.

35 And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appoint
