So what we have in Daniel 12 is a series of conversations between the angels and Jesus and Daniel and Jesus.
I mentioned I wanted to start at the end and work forward.
The reason being is, first the angel tells Daniel what is to happen and as history unfolded and the prophesies proved to be accurate, interpreted them.
Here's what the angel tells Daniel will happen in the last 3 1/2 years:
Daniel 12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
13 But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.
Here we see Daniel will rest until he is resurrected in some form at the very end of time.
Another reason I started from the end instead of the beginning is the timeline that is given to Daniel until the end of time.
This is important because he starts from the time the holy sanctuary is defiled. Most expositors don't include this in the end time scenario. But since God does through his interpreter the angel, so am I. Most say Antiochus did this, but I'm sticking with what God says in this particular instance. I know that Antiochus did defile the holy sanctuary, but not at the end of time - which is where I believe we are today.
Chapter 12 of Daniel tells us that the holy people have their own guardian angel watching over them. Many jews are taught they are all going to heaven, however, Chapter 12 seems to contradict this.
12 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
This is pretty repetitious of the commentary I posted - but wanted to include the verses.

When we meet him here he has already achieved great power and authority. He is a composite of many animals we have already been familiarized with in Daniel 7(lion, bear, leopard), instead of separate beasts. This beast of Revelation is like unto a leopard, with feet of a bear and mouth of a lion. As I mentioned before there are no eagles wings in Revelation, like there is in Daniel 7 - so no USA. Revelation 13 1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.Analyzing Daniel 7 and Revelation 13. In Daniel 7 we have the fourth beast - devouring the earth before the antichrist (little horn) appears. So the beast is already in control of the world. In Revelation 13 - the beast with 10 kings appears - without the 11th horn i.e. the antichrist. It takes the beast to receive a mortal wound before the antichrist even appears. I've speculated that the demise of the Mystery babylon (worldwide economic collapse), could cause a mortal wound to the beast. After the beast dies so to speak - albeit for a short time, the little horn makes an entrance. (Rev 13:5). Rev 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months (3 1/2 years). This is our little horn in Daniel 7? We would have a revived beast and a little horn (antichrist). And I would like to address where USA might show up in this chapter of Revelation next.
