They became supposedly extinct millions of years ago because wolves were faster than them, and bears were stronger. The time is right for something like this, with the killing capacity of most of a bear and the speed and size of a large dog, to come back into evolutionary play. Imagine if they did that? Wow. Thought extinct for millions of years by experts,it turned out to have been part of the staple diet of islanders living close to Madagascar. Experts know shit. |

Ponder the thought that this creature is not a mutant but simply one of a pack that wandered too close to humanity. Cryptozologists look for creatures like this all the time... and they find them. We have no idea what is roaming around the unexplored corners of our planet. |

We are killing off species by the shitload, I dont think its too far fetched to think that new species are popping up in the wake of the old, just species that can survive in the harsher environment of human destruction. This beastie looks hardy enough, mean looking fucker. A naked American man stole my balloons |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 131843 Canada 08/17/2006 11:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | i remember maybe about a year ago there was that other series of similar sightings and discoveries of these dog-like 'chupacabras' that people were reporting. seemed to be from farther down south and the ones found or shot dead there looked very similar in body structure to that above photo. difference being that the previous ones displayed more overt signs of mange but they and the above look very much like african hyenas even in stature to my eyes. that snout and overall profile of the above looks too similar to ignore. maybe the above one is a juvenile one that has yet to turn mangy and hairless. i also distinctly remember people making observations of that particular rotting odour of the animals too. but then again all large mammals do have very unpleasant odours. i'm sure people who know bear country can relate. |

Thats what I thought, this isnt the first time something like this has been reported, even photographed. I get the impression too that sightings are becoming more common. I really think this is something new, not a living fossil. A naked American man stole my balloons |

User ID: 132161 Australia 08/17/2006 11:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Go back in history and there have always been sightings of malevolent creatures. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 132223The gargoyle was one of these representations. Not to mention the Jersey devil, but creatures like that tended to be one off sightings. Not repeated and growing like the chupacabra and this pig-man-bear thingy. Who knows, just speculation on my part. A naked American man stole my balloons |
