Corn flakes is basically just ground corn, and if it's frosted, some corn syrup. And you know they added some extra bad stuff just for good measure. How much do you think it costs them to put together a box of GMO corn and rat poop? Have you seen how much they ask for a box of that stuff? Couldn't pay me to eat it, not surprising they can't even con the below average people into eating it anymore. |

Grits, Farina, Cracked wheat, Cream Of Rice, Oatmeal. Make your own granola and Muesli, know what you are eating!!! $4 for a box of cheerios? $5 for Rice Chex? Buy your own Wheatberries and crush them for cereal, or cook them overnite in a thermos, by morning they are very tasty. Nothing but nutritious, add honey, nuts, raisins organic maple syrup, or molasses, even just butter and salt. Couple soft eggs on top of a pile of grits... Very Good... Make your own wheat bread. Toast with PB&J or honey.... Very Good! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 67774429 Oatmeal is the new everyday cereal, you don't need milk! Ummm...Oatmeal, sliced apple, a teaspoon of real butter, and a tablespoon of honey. That's my breakfast most mornings; well that and a pot of black coffee. I wish I had more time so I could do even less. |

Now, I can't imagine why anyone would eat that shit. How are any of these GMO pushers still in business? I have been eating fresh duck or chicken eggs for breakfast for years, and I feel so much better! I wont ever go back to cereal. Quoting: Epic Beard Guy Three-egg breakfast omelette, FTW! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 66556721 United States 02/19/2015 06:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Kellogg’s has the breakfast food blues: Consumers are continuing to skip cereal and snack bars and choose whole foods instead. The company reported $293 million in losses in the fourth quarter compared to $819 million in profits this time last year, according to The New York Times. Quoting: Foody 60135922 Underperforming aspects of Kellogg’s portfolio are to blame, such as the company’s Special K brand, which targets those trying to lose weight. Kellogg’s Kashi brand, which includes its GoLean products, have also suffered weaker-than-expected sales, giving the impression grab-and-go products are on their way out. According to Dispatch: In its flagship North American division, sales for the breakfast-foods segment fell 7.7 percent for the period ending Jan. 3. Kellogg Co., based in Battle Creek, Mich., has been struggling to grow cereal sales as Americans increasingly reach for alternatives like Greek yogurt and breakfast sandwiches. CEO John Bryant has also conceded that Special K in particular has been hurt by changing attitudes toward health and dieting, with people showing more interest in overall ingredients, rather than just calories. It’s unclear what the future holds for mega-brands like Kellogg’s, but it’s clear consumers are wising up to what healthy food actually is. Just because a food has fewer calories doesn’t mean it’s going to help you lose weight. Again, Dispatch: The company said it lost $293 million, or 82 cents per share. Excluding one-time items, it earned 86 cents per share, which was still short of the 92 cents per share analysts expected, according to Zacks Investment Research. It will be interesting to see if other processed foods suffer the same fate as breakfast food. Are frozen pizzas, chips and cookies on their way out as well? We’ll see, but this is certainly a step in the right direction for those who’d rather choose a plant-based, whole foods diet that’s free of mystery ingredients.
