AEON...where did you find your avatar?
hey AEON...i was asked to find the site where the pic came from.

your avater has a reptilian being with coils around it.

wiolawa said this is exactly how they dress...the coils are used to hold them up.

i did see the exact same pic on a site i visted just within the past two days but i cannot remember or find the thread it was on.

please...can you direct me to where you found it?
i think it may have been a site about ufos in art pieces throughout history.

ÆON OR ZRVAN AKARANA.

Æon, the lion faced, with key, torch, and measuring staff is a divinity of considerable importance in the religion of Mithras. He is the Zrvan Akarana (Time unlimited) of the Zend-avesta, not so much a personality as a personified abstraction, representing the primordial state of existence from which Ahura Mazda is born. The serpent's coils that surround his body represent the revolutions of time, his wings the four seasons. His relation to the deities of the Greek pantheon, Hephæstus, Æsculapius, Hermes, and Dionysius, is indicated by the presence of their emblems.

Zurvan is the name of the first principle (creator deity) in several different religious systems:

In Zurvanism (Zurvanite Zoroastrianism) as Zurwān Akarāna, the progenitor of Ohrmuzd and Ahriman.
In Manichaeism, where Zurvan is the Middle Persian name that Mani used in his Shapurgan to signify his "Father of Greatness" (Aramaic: Abbā dəRabbūṯā), the primordial deity of light.
In Sogdian Buddhism, as ʔzrwʔ (where both instances of ʔ represent some vowel) referred to the high deity Brahmā.
In Theosophy, which incorporated elements of Zurvanite Zoroastrianism.

Zurvan is the Persian god of infinite time, space and fate. The deity is traditionally represented as being nameless (the name Zurvan being an appellative title), without gender and passions, and neutral in regard to good and evil. However, in certain strains of Zoroastrianism, Zurvan is also the father of the good deity, Ahura Mazda, and the evil deity, Angra Mainyu - also Ahriman.

You're quite welcome. If you produce some sort of manuscript as a result of your studies, I'd love to be able to peruse it.

I should also have mentioned the coiled snake surrounding Serapis. You may find it interesting...

Re: AEON...where did you find your avatar?
Even before the Christian triumph, Hellenistic papyri and charms invoked the “One,” often alongside other gods, suggesting that he was not really the “One!” The “One” was obviously not alone among gods but stood alone at the highest rank of them. So, the “One” god is the highest god. This title stems from the first century AD and is associated particularly with the god, Serapis. Not much later, Hadrian was convinced that Serapis was the God of the Christians.

The Christians certainly made use of the the trend towards the worship of the single highest ranked god, whom they pronounced as their own, and the title, the “One,” so they were effectively claiming Serapis as Yehouah as Hadrian believed. By demonizing all the other gods—who were known collectively as as “daimones”—the Christians pronounced them all imposters and devils and finished up with the lonely God they now adore.

Do you believe there are people who are beyond the confines of time and the body?
