Joan Rivers was honored at the Emmy's because she had a TV career. She did not do movies. All of the honorees at the Oscars had something to do with movies - directing, acting, costume, whatever. Joan Rivers was not in movies.

I don't like to think that everything is a conspiracy but... It's hard to imagine the conditions surrounding this and how it happened.... and it not being on purpose.

Bullshit. Neither Joan Rivers or Elaine Stritch really deserved to be mentioned. In fact: I had the pleasure of befriending Stritch during one of her extended California stays and I can tell you that she always considered herself a BROADWAY actress and not a film one. She was never snobbish about it or specifically denigrated the movie industry but it was clear she considered the craft of a theatre actor in a very different category.

And Rivers was certainly no matinee name... regardless of what her devoted fans may insist upon. As it was, she won multiple Grammies for her comedy albums. That is a far more fitting tribute to her one-of-kind career.

Still not convinced Seymour died as they (the news, et al.) described, nor did he ever appear to me, on screen, to show characteristics of someone on heroin, either in mannerisms, plain overall appearance, and especially his weight.

And one thing I do know is the devil, more than anything, hates being exposed, in ANY situation. Specifically fits the facts that Ms. Rivers did just that several weeks before she left this earth.
