I'm not enough of a scholar to take sides in this debate. I don't know what's going to happen. I'm very worried about it all though, and no amount of study into these matter has ever brought any comfort...

Ya I've been doing some research on Friedman (watched just about all his YouTube vids including his next 100 years audio book which is 9 hours long). He seems particularly blood thirsty and like to project Hubris. I don't know if this hubris comes from actual understanding and knowledge or is part of his confident American supremissist narrative spinning. Where's his "coming war with Japan" he wrote about 15 years ago? He see America from his gated community, from the cocktail parties in DC and from private jets. He knows the people are not happy about the shitty deal they're getting from "America's reluctant empire"...And he's totally ok with using imperial force to crush dissent. I sense that he models himself as a modern incarnation of "Joseph" in the bible. However I feel that revenge and anxiety over his lack of control over the planet motivates his world view....Pride comes before a fall George.
