Tennessee Lawmakers to Discuss Constitutional Carry
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) - State lawmakers will yet again target the state's open carry laws this year on Capitol Hill.

Currently, gun owners who pass a background check can carry firearms openly or concealed with a permit. Sen. Mae Beavers, R-Mount Juliet, wants to change that.

"I don't think our founding fathers intended to put government restrictions on people," Beavers said. "If we're going to make people go through background checks, then why don't we trust them to carry?"

One of Beaver's bills pushes for constitutional carry, which would allow individuals to carry openly or concealed without a permit. Beavers said if that measure fails, she's sponsoring another bill that simply gets rid of open carry permits.

"I think the government is really infringing on second amendment rights when we require a permit," Beavers said.

This thinking is correct and in step with the Founding Generations ideals of Armed Americans and our Unalienable Right, as evidenced in the Bill of Rights, the Constitution, their personal writings, the dictionaries of their time, the Federalist Papers, their letters of correspondence, etc...

It does not take a ban or prohibition to equal an Infringement.

Taxes, fees, licensing, permissions, et al are illegal to place on an Unalienable Right and I am glad to see politicians beginning the correct steps to be in full compliance with the Peoples Rights.
