Which I could never spend that kind of money on one. Anonymous Coward User ID: 55873066 United States 03/17/2015 11:01 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Silver with black stripe 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. When you hear that 454 start up... Woo! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 55873066 You can certainly get those for a good price in AZ. What made you choose a 1970 Chevrolet? A gal? Funny you ask, well when I was growing up my next door neighbor was an old man who had one completely all original. He lived alone and I used to go over to his house on some weekends and help him detail his car. He'd drive me around the block a few times and he even let me take her for a spin once. I used to love hearing that sweet baby start up and man was she gorgeous. Anyways several years later that old man died of a heart attack, and I guess I made such an impact on him while I was growing up he left me a bunch of stuff in his will. Even said if his brother didn't come and get it that it was mine. Well of course his brother came for it, and I was a couple of years off from driving anyways so it wasn't a big deal to me. He sure was a nice old man though, would tell me stories of how things were in the 40s and 50s. We used to fly rc helicopters in the street, he taught me how to use ham radios, I even got my ham cert not too many years after he passed. I'll never forget that car, and I'll never forget him. Sometimes you don't know the impact someone will have on your life even if they aren't a major part of it. Ahh memories. |

User ID: 68618804 United States 03/17/2015 12:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm a car guy. From before I could drive, I was working on them. I still remember my first, a 67 Camaro. I remember the vibration, the smell, the noise, when she first cranked up after the engine was put in and me and my best friend from down the street drove around the neighborhood with open headers. I've been hooked ever since. Here's what I have now: a 69 Camaro SS with the old solid lifter LT1 engine and close ratio M-22 tranny. Has the big block hood. 4:11 rear gears...it is not a highway cruiser, but will smoke the rear tires right off! Not a terribly quick quarter mile car, but great for weekend stoplight races! A 70 Camaro. Resto mod. In progress. A 69 Corvette 427/435. w/ auto and A/C. A rare find! It's the wrong color, though. White. All stock survivor. Needs a little work with all the suspension rubber. BUT, and I've recently switched gears. (pun intended!) Several years ago I acquired my first Porsche 911. (996, C4S) and am hooked! Have a 997 turbo and a track car. I am really looking for a nice old 956 Speedster I can hop up. Also have a '02 Viper, (modern Muscle car!) set up for the Texas Mile. Going for 200 mph next time. I think I'll get 225 if the wind is right. Also, of mention in the vintage era, is the '65 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. It's a user rock crawler. Beat up a bit, but tough as they get. Very modified. Love car threads! Adversity is inevitable, misery is optional. Do or do not. There is no try. "The enemy will never attack where you are strongest...He will attack where you are weakest. If you do not know your weakest point, be certain, your enemy will." Sun Tzu |

Bertone designed the Lancia Stratos. Righteous design house. I almost forgot about Lancia, but the Scorpion was my favourite and almost purchased one while in my senior year in college. A very cool and low numbers produced Bertone car. The guy has great taste. I drove an X 1/9 during school. I own a 308GT4 for the past 25 years, 2nd owner. I am a Bertone nut. |

It actually said that under the hood. Speedometer went to 165 mph. "Buried the needle" many times on the GSP in the middle of the night. Ah youth. I LOVED that car. The tranny went, and that was it.
