Us and those Special operators saw death over and over and over. A lot of the occupation guys didn't. Maybe one battle and an IED. I think it has to do more with frequency of the "trauma". I'll give an example. Only one guy that was in the war that I know has committed suicide. Four... I say again four who didn't go to war, but participated in the occupation have. As for recruiting my Grandpa who was in Korea told me this, "We were older, late twenties, early thirties. You were what 19? And so were all your buddies. Vietnam too." And he was right. Age is an issue. I think they think younger means better control? Sorry you were an "us". I hope all goes well for you :) I did see the post and pray for a successful resolve. Do you think it stems from there? Just curious? Age and maturity is part of it. I mean I fired rockets and missiles during shock and awe. It was just a laptop screen to me at the time, kind of like a video game. Then I had to roll down the highway in a helo to an oil fire and see what we had done... Reaction? Sorry.
