Four Blood Moons - The Movie
First of all, I am not a Christian.

I was talked into seeing this film by one of my contractors. She is a very sweet woman, and a dear friend. We respect our differences of opinion, and religion.

With that said, when I was very young, I was a Christian.
Now, I primarily categorize Christianity as one of many sets of belief whose primary source of holy literature, is based on astrotheological tenets.

So back to the movie...

The theater was packed. We had the misfortune of sitting a few seats away from a very obese man, who instead of bathing, decided to douse his body with a hefty dose of Old Spice. I spent the entire time breathing in the fumes from his cologne mingled with his ripe, rancid body odor. I know life must be more difficult when you're obese, but how hard is it to stand in the shower once or twice daily? Nevertheless, we endured.

The movie spent five minutes discussing the four blood moons, and the lunar eclipse associated with specific lunar phases over the next couple of years--but beginning with Columbus discovering America in 1492.

That was the entire extent of the astrotheological reference--the rest of the movie was nothing short of an infomercial for Israel.

Israel in the bible, Israel and the Passover, and how these blood moons in some rare occurrence happen to all fall on specific jewish holidays, Passover, Sukkot, etc.

The ENTIRE movie was essentially, a bunch of testimonials given by Israeli soldiers about miraculous events that occurred over the course of the last several decades spent trying to establish Israel as a nation.

A bomb that failed to explode--a couple of Israeli soldiers who encountered a whole combat unit of Syrian forces, who were ALL taken as prisoners because they refused to fire on the two Israeli soldiers, claiming they suddenly saw an army of angels.

In another story, a group of Egyptian soldiers surrenders to a few Israeli soldiers, because they said their hands were like lead, and they became paralyzed.

The entirety of the movie was spent glorifying the wars that Israel has fought, since becoming a nation again in 1948 or thereabouts. The movie depicted all of these events as totally miraculous--how could anyone believe that these are NOT the chosen people of God when so many thousands of years later, they wind up back where they began, but only after war, the UN, and the infamous holocaust, a lot of political haggling, and the complete displacement of the Palestinians, etc?

It must be a miracle!

And get this---it was a JEWISH banker that was credited with supplying George Washington with the money needed fight off the British. What's that you say? A Jewish banker had a hand in helping to foment a war? Who ever heard of such a thing! The movie talks about it like it's just a great thing.

All of this to convince people that America--as a Christian nation, will either support Israel and be blessed by God, or curse Israel, and be cursed by God.

To make matters even more interesting---at the end of the movie there was a 20 minute or so discussion panel. But just before the credits ran, some zealot woman in the lowest aisle began yelling over the entire theater in prayer. It was quite a spectacle.

The panel consisted of the narrator of the film, and the pastor who produced it, as well a Rabbi, another pastor, and a scientist who was also a Christian. The discussion was boring, and I confess I didn't pay much attention. It seemed as though the narrator was simply throwing apples, and waiting for a coordinated, predictable response.

Two hours of my life that I will never get back--What a complete load of hogwash. History has been re-written many times, and these folks re-wrote it yet again. Some people are so gullible.
