A government to claims to want accountability for nuclear weapons in other countries that then goes and hides and protects the nuclear force of one of those countries is actually traitorous to that government's country. The USS liberty was a total loss. It was sold for scrap. Dozens of Americans died, and Israel never explained why their planes were unmarked, or why they attacked an American ship. They tried to say it was mistaken for an Egyption freighter that was half as long, and had no upper super-structure. Appently that was good enough for Washington, at the time. The surviving crew members were less thrilled with that story.
