There must be real tangible results and that helps overall morale of both the people and troops.

On the contrary...I don't believe hamass is pushing it to create fear and helplessness.

I do believe they're pushing it, BUT in order to force the Israeli citizens to rise up and DEMAND that the Israeli gov stop hamass once and for all, world opinion be damned. It's not gonna get bad at all. Israel's hands are tied. Something Bibi Netanyahu would never admit.

Hamas has Israel by the balls because Israel's only choice is back down, or total wipeout of Gaza City including women and children because Hamas will hide behind them until the end.

Israel will not do anything about this anytime soon because they don't want to kill that many people or lose that many soldiers.

I actually used to think Israel was serious about all of this, but now I think they just use Gaza as a political football. They know they can't just wipe Gaza out, so they are powerless. All they can do is let Gaza rot forever, which is what it looks like is happening.

Important note: IF Israel is to remain a Jewish state, and that is important to many Israelis right now, annexing Gaza and making Palestinians citizens is NOT an option. The Palestinians would commit terror attacks frequently AND reproduce faster than Israelis do, quickly voting in Muslims and stripping away Israel from the Israelis from the inside out.

Israel will NOT commit this cultural suicide as Europe has. The world will scream Apartheid, but Israel doesn't care about that.

I don’t think the IDF morale will suffer anytime soon, they are too busy playing the old ‘hurry up and wait’ game that you know so well... but I agree, Hamas is terrorizing the civilians with the constant missile alerts and that gets old fast. Thankfully nobody is yelling ‘gas, gas, gas’ at this point and hopefully never will. As you pointed out the missiles are penetrating deeper and deeper into Israel, subjecting the entire population to threats, a society cannot live like this for long, they will have to take serious action or thei civilians will rise up and put someone in charge that will end the aggression once and for all.

I don’t think the IDF morale will suffer anytime soon, they are too busy playing the old ‘hurry up and wait’ game that you know so well... but I agree, Hamas is terrorizing the civilians with the constant missile alerts and that gets old fast. Thankfully nobody is yelling ‘gas, gas, gas’ at this point and hopefully never will. As you pointed out the missions are penetrating deeper and deeper into Israel, subjecting the entire population to threats, a society cannot live like this for long, they will have to take serious action or thei civilians will rise up and put someone in charge that will end the aggression once and for all.

As of right now, these actions are psychological in nature. Damage aside. Think about it. Hamas knows what the hell they're doing. They know how the IDF alert systems work etc., these attacks are at least for now, designed to keep the civilian populations on edge. Toss them over their wits end. Constant alarms blaring over incoming.

To produce anxiety, fear, and helplessness. It's effective when done long-range. The IDF, IAF, and Israeli Navy are up now. Round the clock. The Eagles and Falcons are in the air constantly. Burning JP-5 and looking for targets to drop their payloads. The APCs and Merkavas are on the roll. Border patrol in all sectors are beyond tight and everyone is primed, but that momentum can be only maintained for so long if enemy targets aren't prosecuted. There must be real tangible results and that helps overall morale of both the people and troops.
