Abbas and demanded that he take control over the situation. Abbas may have control over Fatah and other groups but his 'control' over Hamas is illusory. The old wounds and barbaric war for power left lasting bitter resentments between Fatah and Hamas; they still clash over control of mosques in the West Bank. Hamas receives direct funding from Qatar. Even Hamas civil servants working in the West Bank get their paychecks from Qatar and not from the West Bank as do other workers. To control them, Abbas would have to cut of their funding from Qatar, and that is something he is not going to risk again. IMO of course. They didn't ask him to control hamass. If he is going to somehow take control over the situation he is going to have to take control over the activities of Hamas and I don't think he can. |

The king has had his own uprisings in Jordan to contend with albeit the massive cost of housing, feeding, and providing health care to the Palestinians. Most of these refugees have no formal education and very few are skilled enough to participate in the overall economy. Quoting: -Haun- Jordan has long contended that the West Bank is actually Jordanian territory and that it is the king's 'sacred duty' to directly oversee Jerusalem [he actually said this in a speech at the UN]. As one of the very few Middle Eastern Muslim countries without oil, Jordan remained very poor and could not fully participate in the Arab world. Now they discovered uranium deposits and finally can finance their own agenda. Jordan has money? Damn! I missed that update. *sigh* Jordan's just always been that quiet little kingdom over there *waves vaguely toward the middle east*. With those rather handsome princes....and King Hussein wasn't so bad looking himself. God Bless President TRUMP! GOD BLESS AMERICA!! |

Of all the Middle Eastern countries Syria, Jordan, and Egypt were the most tolerant of diversity. They protected Christians and other religions. They were some of the most Westernized as well. RAGE |

User ID: 67105399 United States 10/05/2015 03:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If they expect Abbas to do anything, be it escalate the situation in attempts to control/directly damage Israel's presence or control terrorism coming from the Palestinians, they picked the wrong man. Sissi, as he further expands the Egypt/Gaza border into Palestinian territory as a buffer zone and has actively blocked tunnels from Gaza into Egypt including flushing out Palestinians from the tunnels with raw sewage, told Abbas that the PA must also control Gaza crossings. [Hamas territory] "Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid, who has been calling for a regional peace initiative, also welcomed Sissi’s remarks. “Sissi’s remarks prove that today we have an opportunity to advance a regional initiative with moderate Arab states,” he said. “This sort of accord would allow us to forge an axis of moderate states against Iran and against growing terror in the Middle East, and will uphold Israel’s security interests and its existence as a Jewish state.”" [link to www.timesofisrael.com] I personally believe Abbas is going to get burned and it will be by other Muslim states. In this game, all of the Middle East is playing. |

It's not my fault that people have been going about life as if they didn't have a care in the world and then rushing in at the last minute demanding answers to their selective list of questions.
