A bloody civil war/revolution is what they want. By any means necessary. I wonder if PM Netanyahu has a POA set and ready. Something solid, not half-assed.

Herzog joins Jerusalem mayor calling for closure of pali areas of city.
 Quoting: JazzyG

Herzog is one of the most pathetic, impotent little weasels ever. He's not quite a hard-core far-Leftist like Zahava Gal-on or Merav Michaeli types, but it only makes him more dangerous because he is willing to say anything, to lie in vain attempts to avenge his election loss.

Everything he says is focus-grouped by the Washington paid consultants, and he hilariously flip-flops

Herzog/Lapid Rule of Thumb:

--to sound like a hawk where Netanyahu is reluctant to tread. Cynically using Jewish blood that hasn't dried yet to either call for an escalation knowing full well that a true 3rd Intifada will be terrible for Israel in every way (the worse things get, he clearly hopes, the sooner the elections)

-if Netanyahu does consider more severe actions that could potentially work, that information is leaked to Herzog and he basically hijacks the idea so that if it does work, Herzog can claim that it was HIS idea, in the first place, taking all the credit.'

And if it fails, "hey buck stops with Bibi".

Lord forbid if these weasels ever come into power.

Re: The World at War
I will say this for Netanyahu: for all ridiculous global media hype as being "right wing extremist" and "dictator-settler"

Bibi actually proves how vibrant Israeli democracy is - that in the face of this horror, daily threats, it STILL doesn't stoop to what other countries had done throughout history. Bibi may have struck military targets in sophisticated operations, but those were fair game, morally and legally. He is no Kim Jong Un, Putin, Kadyrov types who would have brutally suppressed the genocidally inclinded Palestinians a LONG TIME AGO.

Pali leaders from Fatah can basically what the hell they want, make moves at the UN, file absurd claims at ICC, break treaties when they wish, call for Jewish blood literally on daily basis... and Netanyahu will not order their assassinaton.

I am not even referring to over attack. No, it would be easiest thing in a world for IDF to pull off a false-flag -- considering how many rival, violent factions there are in the Middle East. Since Israel provides Abbas security & has a sh*tload of informers among Palestinians, it could be easily done. Just have some small ISIS cell claim responsibility for a bombing PLO brass, it's perfectly untraceable.

But still, Israel doesn't stoop to that sort of intimidation tactics. It doesn't even threaten Abbas's corrupt sons' business interelsts, which only exist because Israel helped make it happen.

On the one hand, it's ADMIRABLE that there are moral lines IDF will not cross.

On the other hand... the fight against a ruthless, uber-brutal enemy hiding among civilians and of course against the leadership that constantly incites it to violence... is rendered that much more difficult.

Re: The World at War
Unfortunately, being an open, liberally minded Democracy does have its price: the "Mad Dog" deterrent factor is disintegrating.

That's how Obama was able to ram-rod this abomination of a nuke deal-- he knew Israel will NOT do something real crazy against him personally, against his family or against Iran. So of course, when there is no spectre of a personal price to pay, people like Obama are real confident in their actions. Same on Palestinian front. If Democrats knew that Mossad or Unit 8200 were to destroy them if they were to cross any number of red lines that would endanger Israel, believe me they would behave differently.

Same thing with Palestinian leaders. Both political and military wings. They are feeling pretty secure right now in their bunkers, safe-houses and behind the wall of human shields.

Hence the increasing brazenness that was unheard of even 3-4 years ago.
