Israel, US Allies Feel Obama Is Abandoning Them for Iran

Jerusalem, Israel — March 31, 2015 … Part of the following was communicated by the Prime Minister’s Office to the Israel News Agency.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today addressed the opening of the 20th Knesset.

“The greatest threat to our security and to our future was and remains Iran’s effort to arm itself with nuclear weapons,” said Netanyahu.

“The agreement being formulated in Lausanne paves the way to this outcome. It seems that it will leave in Iran’s possession underground installations, the nuclear reactor at Arak and advanced centrifuges, the same things that only a few months ago we were told – and rightly so – were not essential to a nuclear program designed for peaceful purposes.

Iran's Charmer in Chief Wins Again

With a final announcement due any moment from negotiations over Iran's nuclear program in Lausanne, Switzerland, Iran appears to be doing quite well for itself.

After all, before the real negotiations began, Iran won vague recognition -- from the U.S. and five other great powers -- that it has a right to enrich uranium. Between 2008 and 2012, the United Nations Security Council passed five resolutions sanctioning Tehran for violating the nuclear non-proliferation treaty by operating centrifuges at facilities it had not bothered to tell the International Atomic Energy Agency about.

Now, if press leaks turn out to be correct, Iran is on the brink of securing an agreement to allow it to keep thousands of those centrifuges, and also to operate its laboratory at Fordow, a facility burrowed deep into a mountain for the production of what Zarif assures us are medical isotopes. When U.S. spies smoked out that facility in 2009, Obama demanded that Iran come clean about all of its past nuclear activities. Last week, the IAEA reported that Iran continues to stonewall the agency on the possible military dimensions of its nuclear program before 2003.

Obama administration ends long hold on military aid to Egypt

The United States will resume suspended military aid to Egypt, the White House said Tuesday, signaling the Obama administration’s eagerness to help a key Middle Eastern ally confront militant threats despite concerns about its repressive stance on human rights.

Following a lengthy internal review, the Obama administration said it would continue to request the annual $1.3 billion in military financing that the United States has provided in the past to Egypt, the second-largest recipient of U.S. military support after Israel.

'Iran is placing guided warheads on Hezbollah rockets'

Iran is placing guided warheads on its rockets and smuggling them to Hezbollah in Lebanon, a senior Defense Ministry official said Tuesday.

Speaking at the Israel Air and Missile Defense Conference in Herzliya, Col. Aviram Hasson, who is involved in preparing IDF air defenses, said Iran was converting Zilzal unguided rockets into accurate, guided M-600 projectiles by upgrading their warheads.

Syria's Islamist Rebels Win a Major Victory

Syria's Islamist rebels won a pivotal victory over the weekend. By taking the city of Idlib, Jabhat al-Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham will be able to recruit smaller groups and threaten other strategically important cities. The victory is also another indication the groups have become proficient in using armored vehicles and sophisticated tactics. At the very least, the United States and its regional allies will have to negotiate with another faction to manage Syria's eventual power transition.

Idlib is the capital and largest city in the northwestern province of the same name. It is the third provincial capital the government has lost after the Islamic State seized Raqaa to the east and rebel groups took Quneitra to the south. The city's fall comes at the end of a long period of consolidation by Jabhat al-Nusra and its Ahrar al-Sham allies in Idlib province, where they scored large victories against the Syrian military, such as the seizure of the major military bases around Maarat al-Nuaman. Jabhat al-Nusra has also driven out a number of more moderate U.S.-backed rebel forces such as the Syria Revolutionaries Front and Harakat Hazm.

Just curious, why is it that only Israel is allowed to have nukes??????

The negotiations are likely pay for play to a certain extent. Whatever deal there is was made privately through letters back and forth directly from our fearless leader. The dog and pony show is to get the rest on board and find a way to sell the snake oil. Remember this admin has already released billions of dollars to Iran with more on the table. Here's an old article about the billion from last year.
