All the researcher did was breakdown survey data. There was no manipulation. No experiment. You can't say a more active sex life "results" in higher wages. Correlation does not = causation.

For example:
Did you know higher ice cream sales result in more violent crimes?
Both of these have been known to increase concurrently, that doesn't mean that selling ice cream causes the crime rate to go up, rather (and thanks to some social psych experiments) temperature acts as the common denominator.
