When Russia was the USSR and controlled by extremely violent and evil dictators of the communist party, ones that wanted complete oversight of all human lives on this planet, they were people to be feared and had the weapons to do something insane.

No. Russians did hack into U.S. systems, and continue to do so, but they don't activate their hacks. They just leave them there, dormant, waiting for the moment when the war starts to wreck havoc on the U.S. communication and energy channels.

U.S. attempts to do the same, of course, but Russia is infinitely less vulnerable due to their... technological decadence.

This attack was most likely caused by the Chinese playing U.S. and Russia against each other.


On a side note, in any serious conflict, networked systems (computer, cybernetic (synthetic and/or biological), social(!)) are always the weakest link to be attacked first.

If telepathy (strongly-networked system) had any real advantage, all biological organisms would've developed it in the course of evolution. I mean, how hard is it to produce EM waves biologically?
