I think Val was good in The Salton Sea, it was such an underrated movie. Yes I do agree he was good in all the above movies mentioned too, but it was just something about his way of narrating the story of Danny Parker/Tom Van Allen that made me feel for the character. He was also good in Columbus Day because the role sempt to suit him. Both movies I have mentioned and a few others have slipped through the cracks. It shows me that he a risk taker and that he is willing to take on a role to make a movie a piece of art.
