Slow Down, Then Rise Above The Madness
People are in such a never ending hurry, they are so anxious to get where they are going or so impatient to finish things. It is not about the destination, it is about the journey getting there. Take the time to live each moment on purpose, not just going through the motions. Nothing is so important that it outweighs your need to enjoy your own life. Pay attention to the details, the people you walk by that you wouldn't normally notice, the cloud passing by that sort of looks like a face. What I am describing is called Mindfulness, and it is a wonderful habit to get into if you would like to reduce your stress, change your perspective, and add fulfillment to your life.

"Be still, and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10

Truth needs no validation because it is self-evident and undeniable. Therefore, anything that requires validation to be realized or justified as truth must contain at least some degree of falsehood.

In that big hurry, do you really think you are getting the most out of life? I would imagine that if you would value quality over quantity, you would make more from the time you do have.

Another healthy option of understanding.

Imagine you are in the desert, next to the ocean.

Everything you can see is the desert, blue ocean and blue sky.

Nice thread. 5 stars.

Mark 6

31 And He said to them, “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. 32 So they departed to a deserted place in the boat by themselves.

Wish it were that easy. In this day and age, if you work a 9-5 it is nearly impossible to maintain what you described. You are running around at work to get things done and I am usually doing 3 different things at once otherwise I wont make my deadlines and probably eventually get fired in a world where finding work is near impossible. Then when you leave work at the end of the day you are exhausted and have to fight traffic and idiotic people all the way home.

When you get home you are too tired to do anything that takes work and you want to enjoy the little bit of the day left that is yours (which is why you rushed home to begin with). So you game a little, read a little, crank some netflix and generally do anything but work. You rinse and repeat this process for five days of the week. And always, there is not enough time.

When the weekend comes you rush around getting stuff done around the house that you didnt have the time or energy to do during week. So most of your weekend is you rushing to get things done around the house, maintenance, car maintenance, cleaning, etc. and you do this as quickly as possible to get it done so that you can have some time for yourself before the weekend ends and a new crazy ass week begins.

Your example is exactly what I was talking about. We all have twisted around working to live into living to work, and we burn ourselves out striving to hold it all together - but we are not really enjoying the life we're living. Your life will pass you by in a blur while you are headstrong into the wind, fighting and scraping just to get by. You have to find the enjoyment in everything you do, even if it means finding happiness in a desk job where you hibernate in a cubicle all day. Slow down and try to improve on and appreciate the quality of life you have, rather than the quantity of life you are trying to get.
