You will thresh the mountains and crush them, and reduce the hills to chaff. Isaiah 44:27 who says to the watery deep, 'Be dry, and I will dry up your streams,' Isaiah 50:2 When I came, why was there no one? When I called, why was there no one to answer? Was my arm too short to deliver you? Do I lack the strength to rescue you? By a mere rebuke I dry up the sea, I turn rivers into a desert; their fish rot for lack of water and die of thirst. |

I do remember something along these lines from a long time ago dealing with how much weight the crust of the Earth can handle. It was a discussion about the weight of the Great Pyramid at Giza Plateu, there were several scientists that said having that much weight concentrated on one small footprint was not something that could happen in many places on Earth, that somehow ancient builders knew this. Apparently the great pyramid is heavy enough to either cause the crust of the Earth to bow downward, or completely fail if that thing was build almost anywhere else. How they figured this out is unknown to me, nor do I remember who those scientists were. Thought it was interesting back then, and it's sort of relavent to your discussion. |
