Last year the resolution died in the Senate, but Rep. Johnson has high hopes that this year will be the year Alabama officially signs on to the idea of a Article V convention." [ link to yellowhammernews.com] AKA we aren't getting our way so let's stomp our feet some more...if they were in the drivers seat and Dems tried to do this, oh boy would be hear about it. I know this place is pub heavy, sorry guys :/  The thing you don't get is that it's not a left/right issue. It's an issue of the federal gov. not following or enforcing laws based on the constitution. The reason this has boiled over to such a large degree is mainly due to the millions of people like yourself that believe these calls for change are partisan. It prevents any action from taking place. Grow a brian moran.
