"This is the second year HJR112, sponsored by Rep. Ken Johnson (R-Moulton) and cosponsored by 52 additional Republicans, has been approved by the House. Last year the resolution died in the Senate, but Rep. Johnson has high hopes that this year will be the year Alabama officially signs on to the idea of a Article V convention." [ link to yellowhammernews.com] the problem is this- How can you strictly limit an article V convention? As stated- The resolution passed today by the Alabama House strictly limits the purpose of the proposed convention to three areas: 1) imposing fiscal restraints on the federal government through a balanced budget amendment; 2) limiting the power and jurisdiction of the federal government; and 3) implementing term limits on federal elected officials. Every single right in the Bill of Rights and every other right is in peril if the various communists/progressives/socialists/rinos/neo cons get what they want. All good points, but Term Limits will only benefit the people when the Lobbyists and special interest groups are kicked out of Washington DC. Many are ex Congressmen and Senators that know the ins and outs of the Political process. New Elected Officials that come in are tainted by these people, who take them under their wing and show them corruption...
