WTF is this deadly flu in Nebraska that is killing peeps?

Something strange is going on here. In the midst of all the hubaloo of Katrina's anniversary the Newspaper in Norfolk, Nebraska www.norfolkdailynews.com had as its headline on the 25th on the front page "Bird Flu is Here" the article said that the bird flu was found in Norfolk.

I think it strange that nothing has hit the regular, Omaha paper, or any of the others in the region. I went to the Nebraska Bio Prepardness symposium this last spring and was told by all the talking heads that when it was found they would be killing 5,000 birds an hour! the really strange thing is a friend, an RN in the area said a strange flu that is deadly has killed lots, from that area. (mostly people working in the hog farms or living near them). I trust what she says and she is in the know. she said the article she read related the bird flu in hog farms (pigs eating the feces of the birds) mutating the virus and passing it to humans.... The article stated "This flu is a virus causing unusual, uncontrolable platlet failure and destruction/death." she said they are sending the people who have gotten this to the omaha hospitals many have died within 3 to 7 days. She told me hundreds have it and it is spreading fast. These people bleed out from every orfice, but mostly from the intestines. I told her it sounded more like an e-bola thing, she said it wasn't that, but they can't seem to stop the platelet collapse. she was very very upset. I wonder if this is the start of the pandemic that is planned, they would probably call it the bird flu, even if it is engineered. There was one small tiny blip on the radio about this new "unknown" virus that is "very" deadly spreading. This is all so interesting especially when all eyes are revisiting Katrina destruction to take our eyes off what is really going on. You would think that a frontpage headline like "The Bird Flu Is Here" would go national. I have tried to get that page to you but the newspaper page is always down. hmmm I thought you would like to know .
