Beware: China announces plan to seven-fold increase Antarctic krill catches
Conservation groups and scientists worry that China’s push to boost its harvest of krill -- a shrimp-like creature used for aquaculture feed and human supplements -- may leave Antarctica’s whales, seals and penguins struggling to survive. China’s leaders say they want a seven-fold increase in krill production, according to a recent report in the state-owned China Daily newspaper.

You thought the Sardine Collapse this year was bad... hasn't China got the memo that the Pacific Ocean food chain is collapsing? And they just want to up and take 7x more from it?

Animals are already starting to starve from seabirds to sea lions and other larger mammals. It really shows a sign of mass insanity when a country ignores these dire times that we are in and just decides it will take what it wants, when it wants and who cares if all the rest starve.

This is a grotesque slap in the face for the food chain. But I suppose it won't matter, the Krill will dry up, the ocean is already starting to collapse and eventually that massive Chinese population relying on this food will have to resort to krill alternatives like Soylent Green.

Fucking humans would rather destroy this Earth for short-term profit than preserve it for long-term continuity of the species. We are definitely doomed as a species.
