Herbs are strong medicine when used properly. I've been researching them and there are actually quite a few scientific papers on some of the things they can do, but of course there's not a lot of money to be made from things you can't patent so that's where the studies fall off after the initial testing.
So far what I have is that each has it's strengths and weaknesses.
Thyme - highly anti-bacterial, antiviral, anti-microbial, anti-septic and a few others to a smaller degree.
Basil - DNA protector, anti- inflammatory, microbial, fungal, viral, tumor, cancer and diabetes to lesser degrees.
Cloves - best anti-viral, highly anti-tumor, strong anti-septic, anti-fungal, bacteria and disinfectant.
Peppermint - anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic, septic, viral and bacterial.
Oregano oil - highly potent anti-fungal and anti-viral.
Cinnamon - highly anti-fungal, anti-diabetic "helps controls blood sugar", anti-bacterial "especially for urinary infections", anti-septic and anti-viral.
There's lots more, but that's about all I want to write out at the moment and should cover the basics.
