See I think it is something else because in 2009 prior to fukushima I was on Vancouver island and Humboldt squid were washing up like crazy and they are usually really deep. I was there and walking through for sure hundreds but I would say 1000 s. Here is the article [ link to www.canada.com] Probably because Vancouver Island has no sewage treatment, eventually takes it's toll.
