Tell him to stick it...if it looks good and no damage tell him to shove it.

For a thousand bucks ???? More. Fees too. Maximum limit, and an expensive repaint, and personal injury because he sprained his back in the process...etc etc. Slumlords are like that. Get your video cam, before, during, after, insurance reasons. Get it assessed. It's common renter decency to leave no trail of you being there. The laws favor the renter in the US. If the laws favor the renter in Canada, I wouldn't worry about it. the problem is most renters skip court because they think they have already lost.
