Doing something for fear of divine punishment is far more of a facade than doing something because kindness is its own reward
Quoting: Light of my Little Left Eye when kindness cost you nothing or relatively nothing, is it kindness or self gratification? lol when kindness costs a price, then it's a true act of kindness. Divine punishment is a false narrative when you realize you have done it to yourself. G-d didn't force anyone to do anything against their own will! lol Whether or not kindness costs you anything has nothing to do with God. And yes it is pertinent to divine punishment or divine reward. You want God to like you and that’s why some people are kind. human kindness is a derivative of Divine Mercy, as such it has everything to do with G-d, whether you chose it or not! by following Ten Simple rules, you are doing G-d's Will and benefit not only yourself but humanity! lol Human kindness is necessitated by evolution, because we are social creatures and we need to trust that other members of our social groups are going to treat us with respect.
