Prostitutes for Jesus? The hell does that even mean?
While I get where you're coming from with the last part- and agree you can have love without sex and sex without love, the two can certainly go together from my perspective. Intention of the participants and what not

They blur the face and only show the part when they are clothed..but there is other disturbing photographs from the fliers they printed their propaganda on. Does not really answer what prostitution for Jesus stood for - unless like the image of the hooked women was to bait both men and women in - be it to express a suppressed part of themselves, pure pleasure desire or some of the many other possible motivations. Imagine it drew in all kinds. Seems to be a common thread throughout most cults/religions in one form or another. Be it openly like your example or more covert. An aspect of sexual energy/magic use? Or just unbridled lust on behalf of the parties involved is another matter. The women were sent to bars and such, to pick up men for sex with the intention of 'witnessing for Jesus'. Eventually, she said they did start getting paid for it. She compared it to Temple prostitute of ancient times, I couldn't disagree. She said they did it willingly, but also felt totally trapped by the group often because of having so many children, due to all the sex and no contraception allowed.. In one of the more chilling bits of the documentary..talks about how the woman's oldest daughter was diagnosed with Lupus at 14 and was bored and wanted to read books to pass time, but it wasn't allowed. So she wrote a personal letter to their dear leader, asking if she might be permitted to read books. He sent her back a message that suggested she had contracted lupus because she wanted to read. She died at 17, and the guru made a cartoon about her and mentioned how he and this dead 17 year old girl, had been having sex in heaven and described his orgasms in graphic detail, then published it in the cult weekly. Pretty sick.
