Can understand. I did most of them - certainly had some interesting experiences with it all and completed most of it. In the end for various reasons I stopped. Still, can't deny some parts really spoke to me.
I think your description in the end is almost perfect to be honest. When it stops being a willing exchange - in whatever form - it turns into something else.

There was something about seeing that list of 'messiahs' that really broke through some impenetrable barrier enough that I felt clear. I needed to see that. Maybe other people did too. Calls to people for a variety of reasons - hence the long list of past, the current ones who believe it to be themselves/another, and likely the future ones. At least until humanity as a whole reaches some state - what that will be is open to question. It's a good topic, and one I need to take stock of myself
