I did chemo last January thru April and was told to take Claritin because it would help with any allergic reactions to the carboplatin and taxol treatment I was given. They would even administer claritin by IV before the other chemo meds. Usually about 30 minutes in the claritin would knock me out. Which was a good thing since the whole session usually lasted about 6-7 hours.
