Iphones are overrated and preferred by children who use them as status symbols. I have an android that cost less than 100 bucks brand new that has every actually usable functionality the Iphone 6 does. If the Iphone has one feature I like it is durability. They'e good for kids that abuse their phones or are rough on the screens, the 6 anyway. I have a coupla of cousins that have them that to be quite blunt I was surprised to see the phones survive a week.

BTW OP I actually like my 6. I've had smartphones since 2006 and always hated Apple even though I'd never tried them. Now, I'll never go back to Android or Windows. But that's just me.

Go buy a leading manufacturers Android phone brand new without a contract. Say a Samsung Galaxy S6. It's $700. How much is an iPhone 6, off contract? $749 for a 64GB version. How is $49 'more than double'? How is an iPhone 'the same thing' as a Samsung Galaxy S6 (or anything else that isn't an iPhone)??

Actually I must be a bit brighter than you are, because i'd never pay 700 dollars for something that will be obsolete in a year. I have always operated under the "delusion" that whatever is "state of the art" for that particular date is always grossly overpriced and overrated and usually not worth the price, and that it is most wise to buy two year old tech.

My cheap ass phone cost about 79 dollars and with the addition of a memory chip it has 32gigabytes of storage. That's enough, there is no reason to have any more on a phone when you have a computer and a tablet. If you drop your 700 dollar phone in the toilet or drop it onto a concrete floor, it's not going to work any better than mine does afterwords, but the difference is ,you're out 700 bucks and I'm out less than a c note. I find it amusing how people like you think you're better than someone else because you buy something you either can't afford or don't need. You're like the redneck with the 40 thousand dollar bass boat and the 60 thousand dollar super duty pickup living in a doublewide that he'd have to pay to have hauled off.

Exactly. if you want a tablet buy a fucking tablet and pay one fourth the price for the same capabilities. Iphones are status symbols and everyone I've seen that has them is "houseproud" about their goddamned phone.All they are is a miniaturized overpriced tablet that you have to squint to see..

I've had every iPhone since the first. The screens are shit. Full of flaws & dirt glued between the LCD & glass. Every time I go to buy a new one it takes at least 3 units before I get one that's even acceptable. The 6 is full of bugs & they're moving on to a new model without resolving the current.

And yet you still get them.

Like I said, the one thing I do like about them is they seem to be a bit tougher than the Samsung android phone like I have. AS FOR THEIR FUNCTIONALITY, I THINK MINE IS BETTER. I my entire music library recorded onto it and I can do anything with it the person with the iphone can. What's the point? A phone is not a car or a house, it's a disposable item.In my experience my phones don't outlast a 6 pack of underwear or a pair of jeans. In less than 2 years it will be totally obsolete and it is doubtful it will still work at all. I saw one kid showing his I phone to another, and he was putting the other kid down because he had an Iphone 5. I looked that kid in the eyes and said if you had to earn the money to pay for it you'd have the right to brag.

I could be wrong but if you are buying "refurbished" ones where the screen covers have been replaced, most of them have them flaws. A lot of those phones are from people who signed a contract and bailed on it and turned the phone in after they ragged it out.

yes, I know. Cell phones are used for all sorts of nefarious purposes and I honestly believe we'd all be better off if hey didn't exist, but for a person like me they are neccessary for my business and I can't really keep track of thievery with a land line any more.

I have to recommend the samsung androids. They are flawless in their operation and the OS seems intuitive to me. You can get a damn good one for a few hundred dollars and a top of the line fore the same price as the Apple junk

Well, my life does not an will never be centered around a fucking phone so I suppose that's why i'm satisifed with having what I need. I don't see the point in a 700 dollar status symbol that will be in the junk drawer by the time the socks i have on get holes in them.

Its less of a status symbol, and more of a part of gay culture, like jails and bathhouses.
