Girl With Cancer, 4, ‘Marries’ Her Favorite Hospital Nurse

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that had this reaction. It's not sweet or cute, I find it creepy.

It's a sweet and very sad story, and I wonder about some of you people obsessing over your paedo stuff...

Their concerns are somewhat valid in that it's a biologically driven urge for number one... the strong to take advantage of the weak, and number 2, for animals to procreate when reaching puberty.

There are definitely people attracted to those under the age of 18 in our society. Dig between the lines and get talking and you'll find em.

I wonder about you, being a "paedo" apologist--especially coming from your neck of the woods....

In a normal situation I would find it creepy. In this situation, I thought it was nice of them, as it's something she really wanted, they didn't kiss or anything weird, and she may not be around to ever actually get married. It made her happy and that poor little girl deserves a little bit of happy considering what she is up against.

Get her some weed oil and then maybe they'll have a future together.

I'm not trying to be mean about the little girl. It's sad, for sure. But this "angle" seems like a way to "open the door" by pulling on our heartstrings. Plus, why is this headlined on Yahoo news?

I agree. If my dying 4 year old daughter wanted to pretend "marry" a male nurse, I would allow it as long as the nurse wasn't some creeper.

I don't think it's meant to be taken seriously--as in, there is a real marriage relationship, but more of a normalization of the public. Similar to Jade Helm and the militarization of our society. Just gradually opening the door.....

I also think now people are more motivated by their stories going viral, so they try to do these over the top things to get more attention. I dunno, I'm just tired of "how many shares/likes can this story get?" bullshit. Maybe I'm just cynical with all the bull I see on social media these days.

Since it's Yahoo i'm sure there's some sinister motivation behind it.

There was nothing but innocence involved.
My niece had childhood cancer that was 99%fatal.
I am a nurse and I cried each time I walked on that floor, and had to give myself time to compose myself and handle it each time I visited. I do not have anything but the most profound respect for the nurses that provide this sort of care.

I agree....the kid is very sick and may not be long for this world....a fun and querky little thing like this Im sure gave her some happiness and lifted her spirits....

So what?

Normal 4 year olds could not care less about sex, weddings, whatever.

They love their moms and dads.

This girl has a disease, they are adding to the burden by using her as a sex toy.

should we have her fill out tax forms, drive a truck, get drunk - by your logic YES.

those are all things she may never do.

Destroy her innocence - that was the one thing a 4-year-old does have. Way to go, staff.

This, just what I was thinking. This is a little girl that very well might never have the chance to fall in love much less marry. It's just a little bit of play acting to give a sick child a bit of happiness. Just a bit of joy can be immensely therapeutic when battling cancer.

With hope when she'll beat this horrific disease to become the first 5 y/o divorcé.

I hope this brings the little girl a lot of happiness and smiles. The nurse and his wife are such wonderful people, let's have more people like them and less sick and creepy people saying how sick and creepy it is.
