My husband has been trying for months to get a job. Even with help from people on the inside, we still can't get hired anywhere. God help us.

When everyone is on unemployment, nobody need to apply anymore.

Correct me if I am wrong but, isn't there a time limit on those benefits.

As well, less jobs = less jobs to loose requiring UE benefits.

Yep, it's all half truths. Part time is included in those figures translating to poorer household. Also, those that have dropped off of unemployment roles or quit seeking work are not included. Many households have only one wage earner.

It could also be a sign that most of the unemployed are longer eligible for unemployment. If people aren't' eligible, they can't file for it.

Maybe Trump will come out with some real numbers.

Some day in the future we will find out that we have been living in the new great depression for years now. They just never told us. It's going to end badly no matter how fast it goes down.

The report on numbers appying is probably correct.

That is simply because all of those unemployed have exhausted their funds.

However, most of them still remain unemployed.


Bullshit play on words and numbers.

Unemployment statistics are always fudged. In this instance, two things:

An estimated 90 million + working age people, roughly 1/3rd (!) of the workforce, aren't working. Why? Also, most of them no longer show up in statistics as unemployed because they are not collecting UI.

This statistic they are currently bragging about only refers to new UI claimants. It's not worth bragging about, they can fluctuate wildly throughout the year for various reasons.
