Great pistol for putting many rounds down range... Yet for my money, I prefer a caliber that starts with .4

I have a 22 and a 21.... Same weapon, more power. :-)

Actually, not so, and your groups are much bigger and less tight with a 40. I had a 22 and 23 and once I read the fbi Rupert on went they're staying with 9mm it all made sense. I sold everything non 9 and went with 9. Couldn't change my mind ever again. With today's rounds there really isn't any difference between 9mm and 40, or even 45 for that matter.

That extra recoil from a 40 round really Jacks up your groups. You should compare sometime with a 9 and 40. There will be a big difference.

I've shot countless rounds of 9mm as well as .40 and .45.

Sure you can throw 8-10 rounds of 9mm in a tighter group, but why would you when you can put one to two rounds on target and be sure of stopping power?

The G19 is a fine weapon. But you'd never catch ME carrying a 9mm for defense or any other real world situation. I've seen too many instances of failure in the round. It's too light and too low velocity for any real practical penetration.

YES, as well as they may work I just can't see purchasing a firearm made/molded/squirted out of plasic. So cheap and so mass produced with zero sentimental quality built in. Maybe that's the point of all these plasic guns, hardly any attatchment to disposible plastic, so why put much effort into thinking too far into the future with this type of firearm.

Now, a nice clean well taken care of 1911, yes, yes, yes. Tons of cool stuff to customize with, tons of years ahead and eventually hand it down to someone you care about to be used or just held onto for many years to come. They will be psychologically more of an "heirloom item", but plastic, no I don't think so. Sort of a conspiracy or something, lol.

Glock makes a nice weapon... Boxy, ugly, yeah, but pretty Fucking formidable. I carried one for years and trusted my life to it.

It's not my favorite, but I have nothing bad to say about it either...

My 19-3 and 1911 are fine weapons. I don't much care for the Glock 19.

HOLY crap.... A DAMN FINE REVOLVER! I wish I never sold mine. It was pretty too. Stainless 6" barrel with a Pachmeyer/walnut grip. Gorgeous.... I sold it to go towards my Colt Anaconda back in the 90's

I carry a 9mm ya I know however I picked up a gi shoulder holster for my 1911 and its lately going with our 4 wheeler rides

I have the finest shotgun ever made. A Mossberg Maverick 88. It has a safety and a stock made from space-age plastic.

Naw. The 590a1 has a metal trigger guard and safety. All the rest are plastic.

I love the age old pissing match that has been going on for decades, but from what I have learned over the years is that a hole, is a hole, is a hole. The more holes in the target , regardless handgun calibre, is what gets the job done.

Just so both of you know; Glock does make a compact in .40 S&W.

It is the model 23.

And in testing that I have been involved with using Federal Hydroshock cartridges (which I am not a huge fan), the 9mm & .40 S&W make a very similar diameter wound channel. Actually the 9mm was slightly larger. Go figure. But technically, the .40 bullet is not much larger in diameter (10mm).

But with it's weight and speed, it penetrates deeper than 9mm.
