So by far the most interesting topic in last night's debate was the subject of pledging to support the GOP candidate or leaving to form a third party run. A question obviously posed for Donald Trump who had the audacity, some say courage, to be the only one to raise his hand. Good for Trump! As author of the Art of the Deal he knows not to vow to give up his leverage. The rest of the "debate" seemed to be a hit piece on the frontrunner. The fallout of such an obvious smear campaign may result in an interesting phenomenon should Trump not become the GOP's candidate for President of the USA. So if the GOP, or as I think The Powers That Be, don't try to co-opt Trump but double-down against Trump, what could be the outcome? Trump made it clear that he is running for President with or without the GOP. Would Trump officially join a new party or just run as an independent? Look at Trump's statement and position on topics. Is he a Libertarian? Hardly. Trump is way more Authoritarian and that turns off libertarians. Is he a Constitutionalist? I don't know. He doesn't refer the Constitution enough to decide. So how do you classify Trump? Trump seems to be drawing support from the GOP and Democrats but mainly from the group he refers to as "The Silent Majority." So, Trump seems to be representing the fury of the populace, or the proletariat. Would the snubbing of Trump by the GOP result in a new populace party? I think it is inevitable. Look for it. A supply-limited commodity, instantly transferable worldwide, person-to-person, is intrinsically and uniquely valuable. |
