RE: ANTI-vaxers are Nuts

and Pro Vaccine people are IGNORANT, Brainwashed Zombies.

Actually both sides of the fence are assholes that spread lies and ignore facts that don't support their opinion and/or agenda. I have a real fucking problem with people like that.

I have a 1 year old. We were on the fence about vaccines because of all the misinformation that anti-vaxxers spread. We are not brainwashed zombies though and we also possess critical thinking ability so my spouse and I dug into science and facts regarding vaccines and we came to our own conclusions. After all that I lost respect for both sides of the vaccine debate. In the end we chose to get some vaccines and skip others altogether. We never got our child more than 1 at a time and they are all spaced by at least 2 weeks to 30 days depending on the vaccine. We also made sure to get the brands with the fewest additives. You can't do this with all vaccines but you can with some.

This maybe an option in the US, but in most European countries there is no choice between different brands of vaccine. For example if you want to give your child separate MMR vaccines in the UK you would have to France and pay privately, this would mean 3 trips over 3 months, that is not an option for the majority.

There is no separate MMR vaccine in the US anymore either. There is only one company that makes the MMR vaccine in the US too so you get what you get. We chose to get the MMR vaccine for our child and I was sure glad we did since we just got back from a month in Europe where measles is much more prevalent there than in the US. I have an uncle that is deaf thanks to a measles infection he contracted before the MMR vaccine was invented. Lots of other people ended up blind or brain damaged thanks to measles.

Anyway, in the US there are some vaccines (I think DTAP and the PCV vaccine) that are made by different manufactures and you can get one with fewer additives. Parents have a choice to make when it comes to their kids. If I was close to France like people in the UK are you can bet your sweet ass I would have been making the trip there to get the MMR vaccine separately for my child (even though my child had no reaction to the MMR vaccine as it is.) I took that tunnel thing from London to Brussels in August and we went right through france. It was cheap and easy to do. Sounds like you need to get your priorities straight.
