GeForece Graphic Card Driver Update Fucked My Windows 7 System

I've been getting blue screens with the previous drivers on windows 10

From what I could gather by researching my problem, this update is Windows 10 specific, but is definitely buggy.

Why it tried to install on Windows 7 I have no clue.

I just installed it on my win 7. No issues.

When I tried to install it, it repeatedly failed because it found the Windows New Hardware Detected Wizard to be running, and left me with an unusable system.

Good job for me I had a recent full disk backup to restore from.

Sounds to me like you had an unstable system to begin with and quite possibly a virus/malware, etc.

I don't think so.

I've had this system for 3 years and it's been rock-solid.

Not one BSOD.

I've got Malwarebytes Pro and COMODO Internet Security running, also Advanced System Care Ultimate 8.

Wow, full restore? That was dumb, you could have fixed it if you were a little smarter.
Do you work for AMD and that's why you are posting it here? Must be, because you're not smart enough to boot into safe mode with networking and put on an older driver...

I'm a big believer in doing regular full-disk backups (I use Macrium Reflect, which is free) so it doesn't bother me to do an easy full-disk restore.

Much better than fucking around with Safe Mode and trying to install earlier drivers.

That's strictly for anal geeks, like you it would seem.

Sorry you had the problem!! Didn't seem like much of an update unless you are playing Ashes of the Singularity or a Game Works VR developer, which maybe you are, but I'll wait 'til the next one.

I don't play assholish games like that.

I simply have the app, and it asked if I wanted to update to the latest driver.

Like a fool, I said yes.

My 980ti is wasted.... all I've been playing lately is Rocket League and Path of Exile!

It will get put to good use soon, though, with MGS5 and FO4 coming.

I just checked - I have 355.60 with no problems however this driver was installed a week ago and I see there is another update.
