A mum tragically died of multiple organ failure after falling over a kitten.

Much-loved Vivian Archer, 55, fractured a number of ribs after tripping over the pet at her home.

Mrs Archer, of Warlingham, Surrey, made several trips to East Surrey Hospital, in Redhill, in the days between the fall and her death after suffering from chest pain brought about as a result of the tumble.

But the healthcare assistant was found unconscious by her husband Graham after her condition worsened and she died in the same hospital.

Mrs Archer had a history of depression and alcohol abuse and was on anti-depressant Citalopram, Woking Coroner's Court heart on August 6.

She had also been left 'traumatised' by her involvement in a fatal road accident last year, in which a motorcyclist was killed.

Mrs Archer admitted drink-driving but was not found responsible for the death of the biker in his 50s.

Her son James told the inquest: 'She was well liked, a lovely person and she had a lot of friends. She did have some hard times, especially in the last years of her life but overall she was a happy person.
