The way stuff works is, you do stuff, it happens. Progress leads to more stuff. Just do what you do please so stuff will happen. The aliens and underground creatures, do not wish to engage with what is currently human. It would bore. Ghosts and other dimensional things need a challenge. The transformers could be sitting in the parking lot and not care. Be a real person.
