I think your post was a sign for me. I'd been thinking a lot about this lately. Nothing can be done. Nothing. I consider myself as somebody that'd rather know what's going on instead of being in the dark. But it might be time to pull away. "Shit happens every single day. Won't be changing." There's no sense in knowing every little specific detail.

I've been trying to avoid some of the harder threads on this site. I enjoy laughing at the troll threads a la "My mother in law is chasing me with a frying pan in her hands." It's nice to be able to laugh instead of feeling like the veil of darkness keeps getting thicker and thicker.

Another thing about your post, OP. I see this site is filled with preppers. You got the food, the ammo and all this other stuff. Okay. But if things really hit the fan and it's like the end of the world out there, who really wants to live through that? I know some of you all are thinking there's going to be some God riding in to save the day but I really don't think so. we're alone imo. Absolutely alone in every way possible.

Wow. You speak a my language! I had a chat with my Pop today about mind control from media. I like what Trump said about charging networks (in other words, paying him $) for his ratings media circus, and then Trump would turn the money over to charity. We are all in a reality tv show, and the walls are closing in fast. I think there is negative mind control (packets, or "files") being delivered through media mind control, and this is altering our reality. Humans have the capacity to not be passive victims. We have to hold the force, and pull out of a deep nose dive. We can do it! We're on the brink because more and more of us just "know" we are being manipulated. Unplugging helps, so does nature. I'm learning to play the guitar, and I have zero musical understanding. It's the vibration of sound I want. I've seen enough. I've read enough, and learned all I need to know. A huge mass awakening is occurring right now. Some will not be able to handle the death of "belief." I for one welcome it, (because I've been lonely). Now I am finding more and more in common with humanity, and we have a marvelous future. Hang tight my friend! It's a coming together, not a falling apart.

Humans are sick bastards, but also funny creatures.

In the bottom well of my heart, I feel things will get worked out in the end...whenever that may be.

Life is boring and seeing ppl for who they will really be that's exiting. Pointing out to everyone that they are the same it's simple. But everyone is different till shit hits the fan.

We can anoint our heads with oil. The oil that ignites and will keep our lanterns burning bright. When we pray and meditate, our pineal gland and pituitary glands, secrete oil...Hence, all of the references in the Bible about anointing our head with oil.

You know I just had a great conversation with a beloved friend of mine and she suggested some things that really made me stop and think.

So many 'preppers', 'doomtards' and those hungry and thirsty for the death and destruction of this present system; you know the types; the ones who claim to have all the guns, food stockpiles, ammo, knowledge, etc to be able to survive the collapse of society and who almost beckon it on gleefully with joyous anticipation?

Okay so yes we can agree the system has its flaws.
The education system, the justice system, the police system, the economy, corporate control, etc. But really stop and think about the good side of things. Running water, HOT WATER at that, air conditioning, shelter, medicine, technology, all of these things that we wouldn't have had even just a hundred years ago much less a thousand years ago.

Do we really want to go back to some Walking Dead / Fallout / "The Road" sort of dystopian apocalyptic 'society' of scavenging and survival? You can forget about anything worthwhile like art, culture, music, theater, literature, etc. Nobody has time for that when you're constantly trying to find your next meal and fending off highwaymen and looters who are trying to kill you and rape your women and children.

The problem is people look at the way the world was a thousand or so years ago or think about nomadic or tribal people who lived off the land in peace and harmony with nature and the Divine and think that when the system collapses we will be able to have that again.

NO.

NO. NO. NO. NO. NO! Absolutely not. That would never be possible. Maybe thousands of years after the collapse IF there are any survivors who make it that far but by that point we would be absolutely depraved, spiritually and morally bankrupt and completely traumatized that we would be literally LESS than animals.

It wouldn't be some ascension or some higher order of more evolved spiritual beings. It would be a devolution and regression back into primitive, barbaric creatures who feast on each others flesh.

There would be no culture. Everywhere and everything would be the exact same. Desolate. Barren. Destitute. The land would be pillaged and scorched and life would be unable to flourish at all. It wouldn't be some magical Eden. It will be Hell on earth.

There would be no sort of cuisine the way we know it today. Choices. Creature comforts. Pleasure. Maybe once you've found some shack to hole up in for the night maybe you can spit in your hand and jerk your dick or something like a primate for some short brief moment of release. But you can forget meaningful connections, intimacy or love.

There would be no music. We wouldn't be sitting around a campfire singing kumbaya; the fire would attract looters and bandits. You would be too tired. Too sore. Too hungry. Maybe you might remember a song you used to enjoy before the fall and sing it to yourself quietly while you choke back tears. MAYBE! If you would remember anything at all.

If anyone thinks they would rather live in a world without law and order, without systems, without higher institutions, without government; EVEN WITH THE FLAWS AND PROBLEMS our standard of living is SOOOOOOO much better than the other options.

People aren't going to just wake up and band together, brothers and sisters in arms against some evil corporation or government and demand change and usher in a new golden age of humanity. They will rise up and be killed one by one by one by one. I'm not being pessimistic, I'm being real.

You may have all the best assault rifles in the market but it is NOTHING compared to the technology that the militaries of the world have and are able to utilize when given the commands. I don't care how many manuals you've downloaded and pdf's you've printed of unconventional warfare weaponry and guerilla tactics you might have at your disposal.

You can lead a revolution and maybe have followers at first but when they are all getting killed eventually you will be the only one left and then they will kill you too.

We can grit our teeth and yell and scream and curse the TV or the talk radio broadcaster or write scathing comments about current events and how corrupt our politicians and leaders are and we can call for a revolution and for action until we're blue in the face but don't you see that it's not going to accomplish a damn thing?

We are ushering in our own apocalypse. We are calling for the dismantling of a system WITH NO REAL WORKING REPLACEMENT AT ALL! It will be nothing but lawlessness, chaos, murder, fear and death. Disease and pestilence and starvation. That's it. And you WILL not survive, I don't care if you think you're Rambo or some shit. You WILL NOT survive. Not long enough to procreate. Not long enough to leave a legacy. Not long enough to repopulate the planet.

Why do we continue to kick at the goads? Why can't we just enjoy things as they are. So things are bad? So things are absolute shit? Yes, I agree! I know! Our country is a joke. Our leaders are corrupt. Yes it'd be wonderful to go back to some glory day of some 1940's 1950's type of America when everything was white picket fences, free market capitalism and cherry pie. IT'S GONE! It's honestly NOT coming back.

We are too far gone. But we're not too far away from the things that still matter. It's all in our perception. It's all in what we take for granted and what we cherish. Are we going to waste our time talking about how bad things are? Or should we not find things that really interest us? Gifts, talents, trades, abilities. Things we can bless others with. Nurture creativity. Foster imagination. Give back to our community. Be better brothers and sisters, better sons and better daughters, better neighbors. It's not too late to be better human beings.

Someone said - and this was BEFORE we had the internet - that reading the daily newspapers in order to 'know what's going on' is like watching the minute hands of a clock: silly.
