You're smelling your own microbiome. It's desperate to communicate with you. They're telling you through the elegant language of scent that the rotting meat suit you're wearing needs help. And possibly an exorcism from the sounds of it.

You probably have a major sinus infection or URI; go see a doctor for some antibiotics and get it cleared up. In the meantime, liquids, rest, enemas, Jesus, etc.

The smell is not physical but in spiritual realm, where it is very real. Thats why only u can smell these things.

Do you have seizures? My hubby smells and tastes metal and wet pennies before going. He complains of smell frequently.

OP Your neighbors put up some fly traps.

They smell like a rotting animal to attract and catch the flies.

You very likely have tonsil stones. Google it.

Basically, as you get older, you don't need your tonsils (which act as a filter for germs, etc) as much because you have built immunity over the course of your childhood. Your tonsils shrink creating pockets or gaps.

Food and bacteria get deposited in the pockets and the bacteria start reproducing. Also, your lymph system pushes toxins out of the tonsils. The bacteria feed on the food and toxins.

The bacteria multiply creating a tonsil stone....a colony of bacteria clustered around a food source....it can range in size from sand like to small cauliflower like structures clinging to the back of your throat.

They smell absolutely putrid. That's the waste product of the bacteria.

They can dislodge and get caught at the bottom of your sinus canal and that's why you may smell it. Or you may have tons of stones.

An ear/nose/throat doc can see and remove them. You may also be able to see them.

You need to gargle with salt water vigorously every day. The gargle helps to dislodge and the salt kills bacteria.

no migraines, but my sinuses have been very stuffed and have been hurting a bit

I agree. You could possibly have an infected tooth, a sinus infection, or worse cancerous tissue in the sinus cavities. I often smelled such odors when I had a massive wisdom tooth infection.

I occasionally hark one up...Looks like a little caper. If you smash it and smell it it will floor you.
