What's a good dash cam model? Can you give me some ideas?

Some of the models designed for truckers write to a DVD Rom. Other people just use a GoPro which writes to memory card. The truckers rely on the cameras to help protect them from the shyster lawyers when some idiot cuts in front of them and does a brake check. 90,000 pounds does not stop on a dime, but the little ego shitbags on the interstate don't think that far into the future.

So, if a cop wants to take the camera and memory, they can? Isn't there a way to send the video live to a remote server so a bad cop can't confiscate it?
