All you need to do is build a few nests out of straw and small wooden boxes/crates.
Scatter some bird seed, cracked corn, whatever, near the nests.
They will start laying eggs in the nests you provide.
You may get 2 or 3 a day.
Some days you may not get any.
But whatever the chickens leave behind is yours.
And at least you're not stealing from your neighbor.
